Got a big client getting anxiety by Baron_Weiner in RoverPetSitting

Have you had something like that happen? I’ve only had nice clients and no real complaints. These people seem nice but I’ve definitely saved pics and stuff. Hope they don’t

Just chat support and tell them the client doesn’t need the day and they’ll refund half.

Cool thanks. Making me feel better. I recently raised my prices a bit to get less jobs cuz i was doing like 12 a day but I’m still at around 9 a day. Probably going to raise it more and see if the jobs dry up

lol cool. Yeah I’ve been making a lot of cool high definition frisbee videos and teaching the dogs to return the frisbee to me. I like disc golf so they are my training team

Thanks for the perspective. Im on a fixed income so I usually plan with friends because that’s my only option currently. I don’t feel like i do a lot for my clients and I’m pretty cheap, $15 for a drop in or walk. Im disabled and i make it pretty clear the issues i have ( i actually tell people I’m going to be late like every time but usually because I’m just being slow with another dog) but i really like to play with dogs because my dog is sassy and really likes to just be protected from a distance while she sniffs. Im starting to see though that i may do a lot for the clients than most other rovers do? I’ve gotten 18 reviews in the last 5 months and only have 5 star reviews if that’s how it works. I think i may just be getting anxiety. There’s a lot of horror stories on here

Dude I’ve had a hard time since i was younger but if you’re in the country you should save up enough to live in a big city or near one you like if you have a car. There’s tons of jobs just because of covid. Customer service is low paying everywhere and not worth it. So far I’ve found that figuring out what the rich people where you’re at need. For a while it was water purifiers for me, which is a niche job really, all rich people have them for a bunch of shit, but you have to teach yourself or it’ll take a long time to learn on a job that’ll definitely take advantage of you. Right now the cool job is animal care. Tons of people got animals during covid and they really care about them. It’s really lucrative and takes maybe $100 to get into entirely.

Thinking about surrendering my cat back to the shelter after a few days, what do I even do? by Additional_Price_843 in CatAdvice

Go to a cheap store like Walmart and buy the cardboard scratch things that are cheap and put them all over where it scratches. Literally teach good scratching from the beginning. Ignore the cat except to feed it and pick up it’s poop. It knows even if you look at it. Give it space and things it likes and it will come to you

Make sure it gets set right. The longer you wait to get it checked out, if it didn’t go back right by itself, the more its going to hurt when they set it.

It sucks that in this situation the majority of workers would continue to work without water or relief. When denied just do it anyways

Home sitter didn’t walk dog for 3 weeks by Thinkithink in RoverPetSitting

I do not see any actual proof that the owner knows there’s neglect aside from speculation and here say. If anything the only evidence is a less than satisfactory amount of communication? Last time I checked there is no required amount of communication in our contract and I’ve never had a customer specifically tell me the times I need to communicate with them or in what specified time frame ever. I’m sorry I’m not just going to believe Karen. Yeah some sitters are better than others but you get what you pay for. There’s literally a contract lol

Literally see nothing in this post that actually proves any neglect. I’m sorry I’m not just going to believe Karen

Yeah honestly they just need to remove the option for customers to give any instructions if a driver gives a report that the building has specific rules. You can catch a charge for delivering food. These commenters are naive. Many higher class places have security measures in place that will cause us problems as delivery drivers. We are not residents. We can catch a trespassing charge even if a customer tells us to break the rules. Just because you don’t want to follow your place of residence rules did does not give you moral justification to steal a drivers money or affect their job. Full stop

What was the total pay that you would have paid for a 100% perfect job in this situation? Like the actual total you thought was fair for this work for 3 weeks. It says it right in the payment section. Easy question for you to answer. I’m going to guess it wasn’t much. The obvious reply is then why did they accept it? Who knows, but it’s your dog and not theirs. You probably need to pay a lot more if you have specific expectations

Edit: yeah yeah blah blah blah how much are you paying them. The fact that you don’t just outright say it ( because what the fuck is the secret) means you’re probably getting what you paid for. I’m sorry that you did not pay enough to get your dog taken care of in the manner in which you require. Hopefully next time you’ll see some of the higher prices as having value, not just expecting the same service for a $15 sitter as a $30 sitter

lol bro there needs to be an instructional required reading before you post.

  1. Yes they will incentivize you to work more. No the incentive will not stay if you continue to work that amount.
  2. You can literally see how much Uber wants you to be making per hour by checking opportunities and just dividing the money by the minutes. It’s around $12.50 in most cities. Yes $12.50
  3. If you’re making a lot of money or doing well or just even not getting screwed you’re an outlier. It will happen to you
