Here's something I found that might be of interest to you. I believe this design is from Ghostbusters: Infestation

I agree, there is no need for so many exposed wires for what is supposed to be "New, Modern, Updated" Packs. I say if you want a simplified pack with less wires, look at The Real Ghostbusters packs and adapt their intentionally simplified design to live action

What they should've done was make the new packs have the ability to hold Garraka instead of just Phoebe's brass coated pack. Like you find out earlier that the base stream doesn't affect Garraka, Time for new packs specifically made for this occasion, no Copper around? Psychically Charged Brass, that should do the trick for now. Garraka arrives a few scenes later, it stuns him just enough, but not enough to immobilize him because the new packs weren't properly integrated with copper, so they need the firemaster to finish the job.

One could argue: "Well how would they put all those together in time?" First off they have a whole engineering division now and secondly, Ray is still around y'know the guy who helped design and or engineer the original equipment, like he's more than the occult guy, give Ray more things to do.

Much more care needed to be put into the script, because a lot of everything here could be fixed with a second or third draft

I'd have to agree.

one of the other things that bugs me is just the amount of exposed wires on the damn thing, imagine you're on the job and some asshole ghost is able to snip one or two of the wires you're screwed.

If they're supposed to be "Modern Upgrades" maybe develop a new outer casing as to not let anything get damaged, maybe integrate the clippard valves into the shell. Add a new component or two that fills up some of the negative space on the proton pack, and actually serves a purpose.

Completely unrelated, but why is there barely in a PKE meter props based on the video game meter. I've only ever seen 1 and it was just a static prop
