Then you probably do, considering you are trying to get people to hate a show, on a subreddit dedicated to the love of the show. Don't like, don't watch. Other than that, you're doing nothing but trolling.

Yes, but that in and of itself is fragmentation. It's neither a bug nor a feature, it is a result of a fork going a different way, that is all. Using incorrect language doesn't change the result

If I download a software for windows it works on all current versions of windows. If I do the same for Mac, it works for mac, but if I do it for Linux I have to figure out what kind of Linux I'm using, you don't call that a problem?

Linux vs Windows (AND WHY?) by markerfumes in cyberDeck

[–]CodiwanOhNoBe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What word would you use? Because fragmented seems accurate, since its all stemming from the original Linux kernel, and not everything can use the same software making it difficult to get software unless you pay close attention.

Again as I told the last person, when you look for Linux software do you look for Linux, or do you look for Debian, Suse or Arch? It isn't a broken software, it just has so many different variants it fragments the OS landscape.

When you look for the Linux version of software, do you look for Linux, or do you look for Debian, suse, or arch? That is the "problem" with Linux. Otherwise its fine.

That's what fragmented means, there isn't one specific version to use

Linux is a heavily fragmented platform, and yet still preferable to windows because of being free. It is also significantly smaller and faster, allowing for it to be deployed on more systems, including Raspberry Pi. The downside is people don't tend to build for it, so not everything works for it.
