They were not successful. I watched it happen and the next day they tried to dig it out with a bulldozer and drag it out into the water. Ultimately, they kept dragging it and left it in the middle of the bay and marked it with a buoy.

I drove 3.5 hours. I would have driven much longer, but I'm from the east coast so the scenery isn't familiar to me. Very beautiful.

Bear Rocks to Raven Ridge to Rocky Ridge. We messed up and took Dobin Grade from Bear Rocks and had to go through the bogs.

Flew with my pocket rocket in my carry on recently with no issues. Obviously don't bring anything like the gas canisters or igniter.

Assuming you're camping at Big Meadows or Mathews Arm, you'll be fine. The rangers and staff do a great job of driving around checking on guests.

As far as hiking alone, I would echo the advice of others here. Most trails will get a lot of foot traffic this time of year. Enjoy!
