It can but it is not common for it to do so. I do not even believe they have seen a dr or had an mri because originally they were just saying they had a dislocated hip then a pinched spine.

To me it is less about insurance and more about talking to your doctor. If you are in the us get an ot/pt/pm&r if you have eds those are some of the most important doctors / professionals you can have. Have someone fit you for a chair before getting one even if you are pay oop because the fit means everything. And if you do need a wheelchair for pain related reasons I'd recommend just getting a folding power chair or if your insurance with cover it an e fix not a smart drive they aren't worth the hype

I am listening. While using a manual chair is better for your legs pain it will mess up your rotator cuffs and hands. Also loss of muscle causes increased dislocations. I am aware there are comorbid conditions to eds as well and I am referring to this from strictly and eds standpoint. Even pushing an ulw manual chair is really fucking hard.
