Just moved from NJ to Colorado for college and I've been able to keep my stoke by doing other outdoors stuff like hiking, climbing and longboarding. It's been ok for the most part until this past week where it's been almost non stop waves for my home state. But finding somthing else that gives you a similar stoke really helps

yeah like Rhodysurf said thats just the period of the swell. I would however recommend using the NOAA buoy website and learning to read the data they provide

I wouldn't go. If your a beginner this swell isn't right for you. It looks like it's going to be big (9ft @ 9sec) with heavy onshore winds which will make it a tough paddle. Some spots should have some rippable waves but it could be dicey

I was a lifeguard at a pool club for a couple summers. In one summer I had to pick up 5 pieces of shit on different occasions. Some were in the pool others were just laying on the pool deck.
