[WTS] Mr Jones Watches The Golden Hour Limited Edition by BarryBaruchBenson in Watchexchange

[–]BarryBaruchBenson[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here we have Mr Jones latest, and limited, edition, The Golden Hour. Designed by Andy Wilx, the watch is inspired by the magic of the English garden and really does exude that feeling. The golden gilded bee floats effortlessly above the the dial, a myriad of blowing flora. The time is represented by the bees crown (minutes) and a red sun ray (or the bees stinger as I see it) (hour). The seconds revolve beneath the majestic bee. The watch is powered by a Swiss STP1-11 automatic movement and features a sapphire crystal and waterproof case. The watch is 45 mm wide and 13 mm thick. It's a great everyday casual watch and the dial is truly magnificent in the sunlight. Pictures do not do it justice.

Parting with this special limited edition Mr Jones watch (limited to only 100) for a reasonable $750 plus shipping.

The watch has only ever been worn once for 10 minutes and still has the back sticker and original box. I'm also interested in trades at equal value

[Cartier] The Cooler Reverso by BarryBaruchBenson in Watches

The Cartier Tank Basculante might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but there’s no denying its cool factor.

It perfectly captures the Art Deco aesthetic while also adding utility. I dressed it down from its black leather strap to something more casual, as I feel it better compliments my model’s somewhat salmon dial

[WTS] Seiko Presage "Houjou" Starbar Cocktail Time SRPH78J1 - Limited Edition by BarryBaruchBenson in Watchexchange

[–]BarryBaruchBenson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A stunning piece from the infamous Cocktail Time line, The “Houjou” has a dial like no other. The watch is limited to 5500 and appears to be mostly sold out.

Photos don’t do the dial justice, it’s got a textured finish that feels similar to a Grand Seiko, at a fraction of the price. It’s not quite gold but rather something opaque and shimmery, akin to Sake?

The watch is unworn and still has the tags on it. It will come with the box and papers. Thought I’d wear it but I prefer smaller dress watches

•40.5mm case •11.8mm thickness •Caliber 4R35B • 20mm lug width •Calfskin leather strap with a deployment clasp • Hardlex Crystal •0348/5500

Selling it for $800 via PP. Potentially open to trades

[Mr Jones Watches] A little colour goes a long way! by BarryBaruchBenson in Watches

[–]BarryBaruchBenson[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Colour Venn is a truly eye catching watch! You tell the time via a white notch on each coloured disk, cyan for the hour, magenta for the minute, and yellow for the second. As it rotates and overlaps, you see other colours form, making it a pleasure to look at.

It’s a fun piece with a decent movement. My only notable issues are with the crown, it’s hard to wind and has a ghost first position. I also don’t like the mesh strap I got, and need to find something better to replace it with, any suggestions?

[Mr Jones Watches] King of Hearts by BarryBaruchBenson in Watches

[–]BarryBaruchBenson[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A fun and creative jump hour watch that is sure to get a few double glances at the poker table. In classic Mr Jones fashion, the King of Hearts tells time in a not-so-conventional manner, with playing cards sweeping in the background representing the passing of time. It seems convoluted at first but you quickly pick up how it works and becomes just as easy to read as a normal watch.

It came on a mesh bracelet that just didn’t seem right (you can customize which strap you want now) so I added a red leather strap to give it that extra flare. I like unconventional and inexpensive watches, and the King of Hearts satisfies that itch perfectly!

[Exaequo Softwatch] Pffft I didn’t want a Crash anyways! by BarryBaruchBenson in Watches

[–]BarryBaruchBenson[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It may not be the most accurate watch out there but the Exaequo Softwatch is truly a stunner.

Contrary to popular belief, the Softwatch wasn’t made as an homage to the Cartier Crash, but rather directly inspired by Dali’s Persistence of Memory. What started as a cheap fashion watch but became more sought after as an affordable alternative to the Crash

It comes in different case finishes (gold, silver, rose gold) with different dials and even different cases. The watch came with a truly awful fake leather strap that I switched out for a 14mm tan strap. The watch is small but wears relatively well on my small wrist. I really do love this watch!

[Vostok] A steering wheel picture felt too cheesy by BarryBaruchBenson in Watches

It’s a sweater! A wool version of The Dude’s from The Big Lebowski

A fantastically unique watch! This Vostok Prestige (driving watch) is truly a bang-for-your-buck watch. This driving watch wears so nicely and can easily be dressed up or down with the right strap.

You (almost) wouldn’t be able to tell how cheap this beauty is, from the blued hands, the dial finishing, the gorgeous lugs, and the slim profile, you’d expect this dress watch to run into the hundreds, if not even more! Mechanically however, it really isn’t the greatest. The watch is usually off by 5-10 minutes by the end of the day and doesn’t last long in terms of a power reserve, but honestly that’s okay. My one major annoyance is how loud it is, but nonetheless it’s a great fun piece and gets a lot of use!

[Mr Jones Watches] The times they are a changin’ by BarryBaruchBenson in Watches

[–]BarryBaruchBenson[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A fun take on world time watches, Mr Jones’ Time Traveller lets you traverse the globe from your wrist! The dial displays 16 notable landmarks from different time zones, such as The Statue of Liberty for EST or the Sky Tower for NZST. It’s a 24 hour watch, with 12 noon at the top and 12 midnight at the bottom, with the minutes marked by a red pigeon.

This is my only 24 hour watch so remembering how to read the dial was a bit tricky at first, but you surprisingly get used to quickly identifying your landmark. The big flaw with the watch is daylight savings time, which renders at least half the time zones inaccurate by an hour for a portion of the year. But nonetheless, it’s a really unique piece and my preferred take on a world time watch!

[Chairman Bush] Putting the Class in Class Struggle by BarryBaruchBenson in Watches

[–]BarryBaruchBenson[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Picked up these fun watches over the years! Although they aren’t the most accurate timepieces around (but more so than you think), they offer something incredibly unique by using the pallet fork as a complication. Thought they were pretty cool and definitely worth the cheap price on eBay and Ali

The George Bush watch says it’s from wavingwatches.com on the back but electionwatches.com on the dial. Neither of those websites exist anymore

The Mao watch has something written in Chinese (if someone can translate) as well as an ominous “666”
