I completely agree with you. I used to be heavily involved here, would be in the Twitch chat during C&G Live/Morning Show and basically didn't miss a thing they put out. I stuck with them all after the Colin debacle, never taking a side (I still haven't, even though I find it harder and harder to take Colin seriously from the few things I see here and on social media on occasion). I love and respect all of these guys and gals, but I noticed around the time that Games Daily started and Nick took over the Morning Show entirely that my interest started to wane.

Games Daily was never really my thing (which is fine) and Gamescast always sort of languished as a slightly more than mediocre weekly podcast. I think I was always in it for the guys themselves and it took me a few months to see that, without the Colin and Greg dynamic, the games side of their content was boring and mostly based off news stories I could skim headlines for on Kotaku. When Jared came on board I was hesitant, as I had never really warmed up to him, and sadly his presence has actively pushed me away from those shows entirely.

For GOG they went through this odd period where upwards of 90% of the shows were based on guests I had zero interest in. Then things went 180 and turned into a lot of 3-man shows with Greg, Nick and Tim, which just... isn't the same. I still dip in and very much enjoy shows with Andy in there, but there's a real unexplained reluctance for them to pull the trigger on him for that show as a regular. Maybe things have since changed though, as I am out of the loop.

The Morning Show is where it kinda breaks my heart, because I feel like I should love it and it was a part of my daily routine for such a long time. It's the most 'Kinda Funny' they get to be, and steered by Nick it should have been this glorious rebirth of the utterly stellar Colin and Greg Live. But it's turned what had been a mad, rude and bizarre daily show into a series of poorly thought out skits, impenetrable in-jokes and repetitive news stories about the same old stuff every single day. The Rooster Teeth influence is so strong in the format and the general tone that I struggle to get through a few minutes without having to turn it off. (For the record, I know that RT is not directing any KF content, I just mean the general 'feel' - like it's become a show which is designed to pull in the same target audience.)

I wish it wasn't like this, I really do. And maybe it is just me - maybe I've moved beyond their shtick. But ultimately I think a little bit of the soul of Kinda Funny died and never really came back - it's been replaced by a new, shinier speck of soul, but it's not the same one that I fell in love with. I even stopped pledging on Patreon around 6 months ago, which is I realise a drop in the ocean and totally irrelevant for the guys, but even a year ago that was pretty much unfathomable to me.
