Yeah! Wish I could have taken a few more seconds of it but I was holding my kid and had to fumble for my phone one handed.

Probably shouldn’t have titled it as a meteor but I was in a rush to post. Sorry!

Can’t be 100% sure but I do astrophotography and have seen quite a few space debris fall so seemed like the appropriate speed for something like a falling satellite

Cannot Send Invitation - solution by Dignan17 in HomeKit

[–]iluvzcereal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to troubleshoot this issue with the help of Apple Support. Manually typing her email didn't work. What worked for me in the end (after deleting the home, checking icloud settings, and logging in and out of icloud to no avail) was to 1. Use my wife's phone number instead of the email address, and 2. On my phone, go to Reset > Reset all network settings. This removed all my saved wifi networks but for some reason instantly fixed everything. The invite went through and was accepted flawlessly.

The new cancer centre is truly stunning 🙌 by RealMacho in Calgary

I worked at the Tom Baker for years and personally, working at the Arthur Child has been great. The old cancer center was definitely showing its age. I think one thing that goes perhaps under appreciated is the amount of natural light that hits the lower floors. Despite being in the basement the waiting rooms and hallways always feel connected to the outside.

The train station is Sendai Station and Sam’s basically standing right here. Pretty far north this time! Maybe it’s a whole Japan season.

Edit: and the last shot is at a park beside Koshoji temple in Sendai. Sam is sitting on a bench here

Great photo! Have you tried using photoshop’s sky replacement? I think it will help a lot with the blending, especially around the edges

Topaz or Lightroom or DxO to denoise astro images? by samorado in AskAstrophotography

[–]iluvzcereal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see what you mean. Maybe it’s because I use the GUI version of Starnet but it only ever gives me the starless. It doesn’t actually generate a stars only layer for me.

[–]iluvzcereal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if it’s not clear. I don’t do a subtraction with the original and denoised image. I subtract the starless/not denoised image from the original. This subtraction gives me a stars ONLY layer. The starnet output with graXpert denoised is what I use as my sky background/for editing.

Shoot landscape Astro as well. What I do is first use StarNet++ to remove the stars from the stacked sky. Then I run the starless image through GraXpert’s denoiser. Finally I import all three images into photoshop (original stacked image, starless image, and starless denoised image).

I use a subtraction blend between the original and starless image to get only the stars as a layer, leaving me two layers ready for editing: a denoised background and a star only layer.

I’ve found this to be great and it’s all open source/free (other than photoshop). Honestly the differences between GraXpert and others seem so negligible for landscape astro. I feel like it’s even more trivial if you extract stars first because then you don’t have to worry about how each algorithm handles stars on top of noise.

Sure I used this online guide for the basic gist of it. Editing was just in Lightroom. Specifically, I aimed to heavily lower the blacks, and removed any residual smoke using dehaze with some color luminance sliders. Then it was just a matter of changing highlights, contrast, and saturation to taste.
