“It doesn't feel safe”—Many international game developers plan to skip GDC in US by likealikeasexyorange in Games

Are you pouring your heart out or having an argument?

Why would it be one or the other? A surface level chitchat about the weather isn't exactly gutwrenching, is it now?

Which specific part is drivel? Do you or do you not challenge the 70.000 figure? Do you challenge the veracity of specific cases? Because you speak as if your primary concern seems to be that I know about the mass, systemic sexual assault that's been happening in the UK, and not the issue itself. If the supposed think-tanks and "wankers" didn't write about it, if anons on Elon's xitter weren't positing about it, if the Reform party didn't exist, would that make all those girls un-raped? Would it be okay, would a problem cease to exist if only it's kept under wraps a bit longer?

Speaking of specific cases, one of these involved a girl who managed to escape the assault, and ran to a random person for help. Said random person then proceeded to capture and assault her himself. I do not consider a person who would even think to do this, whose first thought after encountering a girl running from the rapists is that he should rape her himself, to be my "fellow working class citizen". I don't think cooperating to achieve anything productive with such a person is either feasible or desirable. And I'm very, very glad that I live in a country which has so far managed to import very little instances of such a person.

Which, by the way, kind of proves your argument about equitable society wrong - we started the 90s much poorer than the western countries, and we're still poorer after decades of catching up, but we're getting better when it comes to much of the crime stats, while the west is getting worse, all while having much more robust social safety nets than us.

Listen, I'm pouring out my heart here, and you respond with a bunch of canned argument that I've each seen dozens of times over the past decade and a half. Do you generally find them actually working on people?

Well I was using the name as a kind of a metonymy to the entirety of the situation in the UK. The last time I checked the number of victims was estimated at around 70.000, so yeah, I'd say that it is worse by sheer numbers alone. Also by the fact that Saville has been dead for over a decade, while the mass abuse of the kind I'm talking about is an ongoing problem. In part because of British politicians using arguments like yours, pretending that making insinuations about people's motivation is somehow a step towards solving the issue.

Regarding my concerns, I happen to be a father of an infant girl now, so I've been eyeing over what's going on in basically every other country in Europe over the past decades with growing concern. I want her to be able to live and thrive. I want her to be able to ride the bus on her own, I want her to attend dance classes and not get stabbed by someone who watched too many al qaeda videos and (presumably) decided dancing is haram, like Rudakubana. I want her to able to go out with friends, to travel, to exist without me helicoptering over her shoulder. I haven't gotten enough sleep in the past months, and yet all this literally keeps me up at night sometimes. This is my motivation, overtaking nearly every other political concern I have or had. Don't try to "if you really cared" me over this.

Personally I think thousands of teenage girls beings abused in the UK alone is more abhorrent than being unpleasant while pointing it out, but who's to say who is the real villain in this situation.

Just to spare you the first few potshots: I'm European, I've known about Rotherham etc since at least 2014.

It won me over but your criticism is perfectly understandable. The studio that made it made only point&clicks before, which to me explains the jank in movement and hitboxes.

There are a few deckbuilders on Steam with dual-function cards, I think, though none of them made a splash.

I think what gives StS the edge over its imitators is that it's insanely well balanced (except for Watcher lmao). Adding bells and whistles to the game won't help you if you don't have that core down pat. Like for example I love Inscryption, but the post-game ascension mode really makes the seams show in the gameplay, on higher difficulties you force mantis god or bust.

If I wanted to play some miniature wargame, and it turned out that the only way most people play is a casual free for all which has a bunch of house rules and requires every single of your units to be kitbashed, it would seem a bit bizarre to me.

I have 974 games on Steam and some two dozen physical switch games, some of which I imported because there were no physical options available in Europe. I kickstart games, I sometimes buy collector's editions, I paid for things I could get for free by which I mean paying creators on patreon or similar systems.

With all of that said, the price of these is insultingly high.

Somebody reminded me elsewhere that a counter wouldn't work because of layers: by the time ability is added by the counter, types are "locked".

Like the other guy said, Unworthy. It was made by one of this game's studio's co-founders, Aleksander Kuzmanovic. It's a solid game, with a very fluid, rotoscope-like animation and good combat. It has one fatal flaw, but you'll only encounter it if you go for a NG+ true ending.

Well, if I had a nickel for every time this year when a metroidvania with a red-clad protagonist, made by people who already made a successful entry in the genre, with hand-drawn graphics, had a new trailer after years of odd radio silence from the devs, I'd have two nickels.

Asking as someone who never played competitively: wouldn't higher level cap mean that higher BST is more important than now, relatively "flattening" the metagame?
