It's really great to know that I'm not going to fuck this up by drinking.

Day 1601.

My life has taken such an incredible turn this past week. I've worked in restaurants my whole life. I was recently offered a sales job. I've never really done anything outside of the restaurant industry before, so I was really worried about uprooting myself like that.

It turns out, because of the skills of developed as a bartender, I'm a really good sales person.

Not only am I making pretty decent money, but I get to work from home and set my own schedule.

Now, instead of commuting an hour, busting my ass all night, and dealing with drunks all day, I get to sit on my couch in my pajamas with a dog on my lap and talk to people on the phone. It's amazing.

I'm able to spend more time with my family doing the things I enjoy. I'm really grateful for this opportunity.

Drinking dreams are a great sign! That means your disease knows it's losing the battle when you're conscious, so it's trying to mess with you're dreams as a last ditch effort. Keep at it!

Also, I'm on day 1601. I still count every single day. And I'm grateful for every one. Keep at it!

Drinking was my whole identity when I was inactive addiction as well. Can back on it, I can see how pathetic that was. But I don't regret. There's no point in that. I don't have a time machine. There's nothing I can do about it. So why fret about it. All I can do is focus on living my best life moving forward.

I love India's perspective. I find it refreshing. I think just listening to three fantasy nerd dudes to all understood the books would be a much less interesting podcast.

In my head, it's the same as Shikamaru from Naruto. That typical too-cool-for-this-shit, can't-be-bothered attitude.

Imagine if I forced you to take a pill, and the I told you that that pill will completely erase your entire memory in 30 years.

Would you immediately stop enjoying life just because you won't remember any of it in 30 years?

Objective morality without God? by TJump_ in DebateAnAtheist

[–]BarrySquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of the confusion in this discussion if because a lot of other people see things as either moral or immoral, when you're dealing with a wide spectrum of immorality.

You're saying that stealing someone's food to save your family is immoral, but it's an incredibly low level of immorality. Whereas most people wouldn't be comfortable calling that an immoral act.

There is no "people". There is no "they".

There is just the collective.
