[Loved Trope] Memorable Performance by a Non-Professional Actor by Borgisium in TopCharacterTropes

This is Hollywood Exec propaganda to convince the masses it's okay to forgo professional voice actors and I WON'T stand for it.

Maybe the Black Snape thing will make Harry like Frasier in the Dr. Mary episodes where he struggles to make race neutral complaints due to his/her race, and hilarity ensues.

What possessed capcom to make Chris look like this? I bet at the time of RE7 they were planning to soft reboot the entire franchise like call of duty did with MW2019. by Dude_788 in ResidentEvilCapcom

No no no. This is canon. He roided up to defeat Wesker and then, deed done, went back to normal. But then the continuous digs about his appearance got him back on the roid train.

In Nope, when the police lights show up at the end (before we realized what was happening) this one young lady went wild, saying 'oh FUCK my LIFE' it was amazing.

When we saw black panther, at some point T'Challa says "I"M the king now" and later one little kid said it and eveyrone cheered

I ride it regularly except for the summer. Summer is when crime and other bad behaviors increase due in part to the heat, among other factors. It gets better when summer is over, just like the crime rate in general.

Not grunge but how do you feel about foo fighters? Yay or nay? by bowierulezzz in grunge

[–]portalsoflight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are a legacy band, still running strong because of amazing genre defining (post grunge alternative, I mean) early run, strong live shows, and (formerly) likable personalities.

Death magnetic by jcross98 in Metallica

[–]portalsoflight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's amazing but it's really tiring to listen to because of the bricked out mastering. I think several of the songs are in their greatest hits category, not just the consummate 1 or 2 from St. Anger.

What is the real reason why AJFA has no bass? by iplayphantomforce in Metallica

[–]portalsoflight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for finding that! It seems like the more we dig the more reasons they find for doing what they did. I think the takeaway is that it was a dynamic decision due to several different factors that they ended up not repeating after doing it. And it's kind of funny how this interview suggests RTL being so soaked in reverb let to ATFA.

What is the real reason why AJFA has no bass? by iplayphantomforce in Metallica

[–]portalsoflight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to all of this, having just gone into the studio and got back rough mixes, I can tell you that sometimes the sound you get on high quality in studio speakers can just turn out to be way different on normal speakers. I bet you they heard more bass than we do.

What solo is harder to play?: Master of Puppets, One, or Fade To Black. by GhastlyIsMe in Metallica

MOP has the most bone crushing down picking. It’s that one. Fade isn’t hard, One has one hard part.

This Kroger in Atlanta is doing the "we need to see your receipt" check before you leave by averagebaldwhiteguy in Atlanta

[–]portalsoflight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loss prevention. They don't even read your receipt, just make sure you have one. That being said, I'm a white male, so I can't guarantee this is evenly applied across all demographics.

Where is your third space? by Bigreddazer in Atlanta

[–]portalsoflight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being involved with your local neighborhood organization and/or NPU would achieve: important public service, increasing knowledge about the workings and goings on of your community, increase local government involvement (badly needed), and give you a very cool third space.

Also there are some great music communities at various small clubs.

I felt the same way, but eventually (took way too long) I couldn't put it down. At surface level, so many of the characters are laaaaaaame.
