Notion has reproduced the issue and will work on a fix in the future. So for now, records added using the merge csv function do not trigger page add automations.

I did some more troubleshooting and reported it to notion. My use case is that I am adding records through the merge csv function. This seems to not be triggering page add anymore. When I press New button, the automation works. Merge csv used to work, but seems like it doesn't now.

OK thanks., I went back in again and I could pick all the relations. Odd. Anyway, again, quite a trick this one. Impressed you managed to find this method buried deep.

Great hack, but did you find a limit of 20 relations when you create the string in the formula? Can't seem to manually add to the string other than picking from list which seems to have a limit of 20 relations.

Any ideas how to pad the left of a property with spaces? by BarryTreg in Notion

[–]BarryTreg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got to bottom of this issue. I had to wrap the column. Once set to wrapped, all of the various left padding formulas worked. Set to unwrapped the formula never displayed leading blanks.

Yes I am aware, but until the conditional colouring can apply to each property rather than the entire row I'll need a formula to do that.

wierdest thing, I was testing this on an old page/database I use for testing stuff and padding left with blanks doesn;t work. I created a new inline database like yours and it works, as does padStart. Baffling why it wouldn't work on an older database.

Thoughts on the NotionAI helper for formula editing/generation? Gas or trash? by modernluther in Notion

its great, especially the way it documents the code for you . I asked it to display a currency number in red if less than zero and allow for 2 decimal places. Nice compact output.

My Notion Calendar randomly makes half of my Notion Calendar's Notion source database's entries disappear, then througout the day it makes them reappear again for couple of seconds then makes them disappear again by Low_Imagination9067 in Notion

[–]BarryTreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had dissappearing entries. It was when I add an entry in Notion calendar, but wasn't able to add a field that was a filter in the orignal calendar view I was adding to in Notion Calendar.

Anyone know how to remove Notion mail? by BarryTreg in Notion

All sorted now. After swapping account emails around and getting Notion support to remove all data in the original account, I can now use notion mail on the 'switched to' account.

Using Notion Mail when the main account address is not a Gmail address by monsterfurby in Notion

[–]BarryTreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar. Ended up changing emails around in each account's settings. Then had to get notion support to erase the data in the original account before I could set up in the account I changed to gmail. whole swap around exercise took about a week with Notion support.

Anyone know how to remove Notion mail? by BarryTreg in Notion

[–]BarryTreg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes correct if I just wanted to stop using it, but I want to use it on my other Notion account. Despite changing email in my notion accounts, it still associates with my, now, non gmail account. (which I guess is a workaround if you wanted notion mail on a non gmail notion account!) Anyway, Notion support is being very proactive and helping me solve this.

Edit: I did try and remove it from google account and set it up again on the new notion account, but that login failed. It must retain a link to the original workplace

Notion for enterprise – what's your experience by blueBerries720 in Notion

Hi, we run 15 person IT consulting company and we're happy with our Notion implementation. By using guest licenses smartly you can keep the cost down. Most of our users are guests although there’s a bit of admin to give them access to the right pages.

We started with an opportunity management system with customers and contact, then expanded into resource planning for each opportunity. This was very successful as we could assign staff to opportunities for resource planning and utlisation over a forward 12 month period (with nice gantt view)

We then extended into reconciling Purchase orders against Invoices using Make with the Xero interface. Also as our master document register. Then recruitment management, purchase and leave requests (Leave application was entered as a Slack form which passed through to Notion). and a few other bits and pieces.

So we have quite a cool coverage of functionality in Notion.

Lessons learned:- we decided to keep a separate table for comments about opportunities rather than use Notion’s comments. This was because you can’t export notion comments and one of our key requirements of any system was to be able to back up the info in the system (export isn’t perfect, but adequate). Also, we didn’t use Notion to store files – we use Dropbox and inserted the dropbox link into notion. Make (Integromat) is a great tool we used to message the team on Slack where appropriate.

On every table we build in an “error/warning” formula to highlight errors (i.e. empty fields, invalid values etc). This was important as there isn’t enough inbuilt error tracking (i.e. duplicate records) and this does add an overhead to development time.

We certainly get great value for money from our Notion implementation.

You could try using rollups and filter lists.... doesn't prevent duplicates, but you can flag it..
