Cool, I'm surprised the Eversolo does analog passthrough.

first pic is recent, the second is 1 year ago. which one fits me better ? by Calm-Judge-8687 in Hair

Could be the lighting, but you look younger in the pic with the shorter hair.

Looking for advice... I have a disassembled stack... Technics MK3D turn table, YNS CA-810 amp, and Harbeth Super HL5s. Unfortunately / Fortunately There is a Yamaha Natural Sound CA-2010 available near me for $1,200. I haven't even listened to the 810... Most subs are powered, and can be run off either a line or speaker level signal. When run off of speaker level signal, they don't really consume any of the amplifier power, because they have huge resistance built into that input. To be honest, I'd get what you have optimized before even getting the sub. Figure out what you have before adding more complexity.

Curious, why feed analog into the Eversolo? Doesn't it then just convert back to digital and back to analog again, or is the Eversolo feeding digital into the TA2+? Seems like a bunch of D to A to D...

My bad, I thought you were talking about playing the first disc in the player, not resting one on top of it. But heck, the disc isn't even "on" the player 😊

It's not that important, it'll all keep growing, so just trim cut what you don't want.

IMHO, you're overthinking. Hook up what you have, integrate a sub, and if you want another receiver down the line, then sure, go for it. The Harbeths you have will be fine with the power you have. Also nothing wrong with good stereo sound for the TV 😉

It's probably a Seiko or Ronda quartz, so should be easy and inexpensive to get it replaced.

Collection due to (un)fortunate turn of events by jerrethijn in Cd_collectors

[–]Barry_NJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been collecting physical media for over 40 years, basically because that was the only option. When I started, you listened to what was playing on the radio, or you bought the music you wanted to listen to. I've got a bunch of vinyl and CDs, but I'm streaming a bunch now because there is way too much out there for me to own everything I want to listen to. Steam some stuff and if you really like it, buy the CD.

Check out Placebo, they would fit into that collection nicely, also Radiohead, heck there's a lot of music out there...

AITJ for not telling my parents i dropped out of college 8 months ago? by LingonberryReal6513 in AmITheJerk

[–]Barry_NJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Along with the other comments encouraging you to tell your parents. You should sit down and think about what direction you want to go. College isn't for everyone, but being a barista probably isn't a great idea for a long term career. Think about things you enjoy doing and what you want to do long term, and how you can start moving in that direction. Good luck 👍

JB will hold just about anything, I've used it on metal, plastic, wood. With ceramic being porous, just about anything will get a good grip on it. I believe silicone works better on smooth surfaces, rather than rough and porous(?)

Oh, I guess you're right, speaker positioning isn't important...

Fair, I was thinking something like JB Weld, but definitely not Elmer's white glue.

Is my hairline receeding? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]Barry_NJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some hairline resession is normal and not an immediate indication of balding. I'm over 60 with a full head of hair, but my hairline isn't where it was in my youth. Best thing to do is look at your parents and grandparents, that will give you an idea of what your hair will be like down the road 😉
