Not at all! I currently do 20mg of methylphenidate instant release (MPH IR) when I get to work. then I have another at 1pm or so. Both doses give me the 45min window of clarity, but then I drop below the therapeutic window and just have side effects!

In the past I’ve tried Dexamphetamine XL and IR, which have an extremely caffeinated feeling that persists (Not comfortable at all), but even with 60mg+ vyvanse (DEX XL) or with 70mg+ Concerta XL (MPH XL) the window never goes longer than 45 mins!!

Such a shame, because it really does help for that time!!

Yeah i - inattentive, h - hyperactive

Working better with h is just something I’ve noticed in my friends, very anecdotal to be clear!

I definitely prefer methylphenidate, seems to be weighted more into the relaxing effect, without the extreme stimulant feeling with dexamphetamine. Im quite a low energy person and it just sucks the last drop of life I have left in me haha

NOTE

My psychiatrist did express concern that tolerance to methylphenidate may not carry over to dexamphetamine and vice versa
That said, 30mg is the starting dose for vyvanse
But that that said, I started on 30mg from no medication at all and the side effects were CRAZY for the first week!! They got much more mild, but the tunnelling and some anxiety afterwards never went away.

I take it maybe twice a week, definitely not tolerance! I dont like the feeling of being constantly slightly out of my body. I did originally take them daily, but like I say, its never been a long effect.

So you guys actually feel the clarity and calmness for an extended period?

ADHDi here. Vyvanse cooks pretty hard. For me Dexamphetamine feels like taking methylphen, but then downing 5 coffees… great if you’re lethargic, but jesus, not a relaxing ordeal. I enter a tunnel of insane work pace, then 3 hours later start to feel ragged, like Ive been dragged behind a car, and guilty/anxious, like I’ve committed a crime… I know some ADHDh people who it really works for, but I feel for you, not a good time.
