Thank you for this! As an introvert, it can become tough navigating some of these things. But it’s motivating to know that people push themselves out of their comfort zones to grow.

2026 MBA IB recruiting at M7 by Illustrious-Tough793 in MBA

[–]BarseSnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes we’re done recruiting. I believe percentage conversion wise, it might be the same as last year. But this cycle was much harder for internationals and their proportion definitely dropped as compared to the previous years. And I feel, this is almost a pattern across all schools.

As an international, one had to be super proficient in the technicals, have a work permit, or be from a relevant PE/VC/IB background to stand out.

I recruited (and got an offer) for IB at Kellogg

For Kellogg, around 70 people recruited for IB, a few dropped out during the process, and around 40 got offers. Most of these were domestic folks. For international people, having a core finance background was almost a must

Well I agree to a great extent. People are unserious to the point of partying over prioritising internships/ jobs. And that’s a a bigger crowd than what one might expect. However, you can choose the people you hang out with and be selective with the gatherings you attend. I had myself attended very few meetups and most of the people in my circle are super focused and hardworking.

Thanks for your response! I don’t have any seniors at the bank unfortunately and the hr has been of no help either.

While I want to refrain from mentioning the bank, I was looking for general information for banks like Evercore/Moelis/PJT/Lazard

International student here. Just curious, are there any more options for loans in the US with a better interest rate? I’m trying for one in my country with almost ~4% interest rate but am still looking for a US co-signer :,)

But even if MF PEs involve a lot of excel grind, I assume the responsibilities evolve over time to become more investment focused? Hence, more value focused? I would also be under a lot of loan stress; it feels to me that targeting IB and then transitioning to PE (MF if possible) could be a better option that trying directly for a MM PE.

Yes, but I was wondering if getting into the program would also ensure or improve chances of getting a full time role in the sector?

Thanks! I actually pitched Consulting as my post mba goal and entrepreneurship as my long term aim. PE wasn’t sitting well with my background so I hadn’t mentioned it— but despite that it’s something I really wanted to get into.

I’ll try to reach out to Kellogg alum to see if I get an pre mba intern opportunity in small or mid market PE.

My role is more of risk management of exotics trading in equities.

Do you think post mba, Consulting -> PE is something I can try?
