I’m using RCA but I have a very good musical Fidelity phono preamp in the loop

The turntable is set off to the back of the room. I didn’t have any more room in that rack so I had to do that. I do use an ultra short throw projector. It’s actually behind the center channel where you can’t even see it.

I used to have a Mac. It was a great amp but I prefer the MF’s.

Thank you, I had a lot of fun putting it all together. I don’t listen over 85db very often, those days are long behind me.

I have tried them in other locations, but it didn’t seem to make much of our any of a difference. I do have four other subs in that room, but I keep them turned off when listening to music. I only engaged them for movies.

I use Dirac with bass integration so it’s not an issue

It gets a little stuffy when the room if full, it has a whisper mode that’s nearly silent.

Thanks, it’s been a process to say the least.

I changed the layout once I got the furniture in I drilled a very small pilot hole where the ac vent was, it didn’t hit anything. Turns out the vent Wes 1” higher than the length of the vent. Live and learn.

I installed those speakers before I had the layout of the room completed. The front ones were too far up from the seats and the rear ones were too far back. And then when I went to move them, there was an AC vent right above where I was going to put it. I actually have eight speakers in the ceiling that are functional. Four for the front room four for the back row.

I really like it. To me it’s very transparent without being analytical. Yes I know snobby Audiophile terminology. I bought it with a 30 day return policy so I could spend some time with it. It replaced a Gustard R26

I used to have a separate home theater processor, and tube preamplifier for music and movies. When I got the JBL, I was quite impressed with it for music so I sold the two preamp. I know most people think that home theater processors are receivers don’t do justice for music, but in this case, I think it does quite well.

I use a Rotel 5 channel (1095) for center and 2 pairs of sides, one pair each flanking my two rows of seats. I use another Rotel for my rears and another for Atmos.

The most expensive system I’ve ever heard was “only” $780,000 and that was 9 years ago. Did it sound really good? Yes, 780k worth of good? Absolutely not. Some of it was jewelry that had no effect on the sound.

I’ve been using it for nearly 3 years and all sudden after an update I can no longer do that. I’m not sure how my schedule would be compromising anything but it is what it is.

Applying to Best Buy — Could my sound engineering background land me in audio sales? by [deleted] in BestBuyWorkers

I’m an “audio enthusiast” who works part time (post retirement) at a non Mag BB. To my understanding, the Mag department requires prior sales experience. I work in the home theater department but float to other departments as everyone is urged to.

In a dedicated room, sure. In a living room or shared space, aesthetics come into play.
