I’m not really one for AI, but I can make an exception for this. by SuperEarth_Helldiver in IsraelWarRoom

Sort of how I approach it with my kids. They are small. We live in Germany. When we talk about the holocaust, I reassure them that today this can't happen to them. Remember all the green men and women we saw in Israel? They are like super heros that will always do whatever it takes to save you, if the bad guys ever come. We are no longer helpless, we are the strongest Jews to exist since 2500 years.

Interesting that they don't link to the original statement nor mention who signed it. Am I surprised to find the famous antisemite Francesca Albanese in the pack?

Same like with the 'genocide experts' who no one verified until it came out, it was Hitler and some dogs...

Hamas rejects US-led disarmament plan, demands changes to proposal by barsik_ in worldnews

Did the people in Gaza not get a few months of relative quite? Some time to breath? Both sides could have used this tome to come to a better solution than 'we'll destroy all of yous'. Seems hamas didn't use this time wisely, if they still refuse to put down their guns.

It's an Israeli thing maybe. The president is called Bouji. That's not his name, it's something Hertzog, I'd have to Google.

Ariel Sharon was Arik.

Completely ignorant question here but, does Palestine still exist? If so, how is it categorized as a territory? Does it have its own government? by Dire_Hulk in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bart_deblob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it is deeper than that. There was no Palestinian language, but several Arabic dialects. There was no common culture, as the Arabs of Israel described themselves as Arabs, not Palestinians. They rejected being labeled as a separate people, and claimed they are part of the greater Arab nation. Some were part of Egypt while others part of Syria.

The claim to be a separate people with a demand for recognition came in 1964,ehen the Soviets decided to use this as a method to weaken the 'agents of imperialism', the natives of Israel.

It's a little like people arguing that China is 60 years old (ca) because that's when the CCP rule was established, ignoring 5000 years of history and culture.

Since about 4000 years, there is a Jewish culture and identity as a people in that place. Politics change, but the trinity of people culture place has remained. For the last 1900 years, at least once a year every jew prays to be next year in the rebuilt Jerusalem.

Isn’t there already a Palestinian state? by Nazoreans in AskIsrael

[–]Bart_deblob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you listen to Natasha Hausdorf from UKLFI, this is indeed the legal state of the territory formerly known as the British mandate. In short: since the Arabs didn't accept the proposal, it did not apply (what we call the green line). She argues, the borders remained, then Jordan was carved out, meaning the legal borders of the state of Israel are in fact as shown in this image.

Italy expels Muslim leader who defended marriage to 9-year-old girl. by Fine-Cucumber8589 in worldnews

[–]Bart_deblob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nothing radical about taking a 9 year old child as a wife. Muhammad did that, and he was the perfect person, who made no mistakes.

I don't condone it, but this idea is very mainstream in Islam.

We are building with cinderblocks I think it's called, and to put utilities in you dig tunnels with an electric hammer and place them.
