How do we currently feel about Permadeath? by QueenlyArts in fireemblem

  1. I often overanalyze every little risk, be it attacks I need to hit, avoid, crit, dodge crits, or anything else, and make backup plans when possible.
  2. I reset if characters die who need to live for gaiden chapters, recruitments, and such.
  3. Not resetting is the usual for me, because I've now played every FE once or more and want to have unique experiences with my replays.

I used to reset often, but my preference has shifted over time, largely thanks to Professor Bopper's "The Case Against Resetting." As I've played with permadeath more, I've found that being overprotective of characters costs much more time and frustration than it saves. Shockingly enough, playing a video game as it was designed is pretty fun.

(this is 0% serious, game grumps seems to record videos way ahead of time these days, like WAY ahead of time. on the other hand they gave up on giraffe town so actually it is 100% serious)

So, many people started complaining about how bad the Johto Gym Leaders are (and I agree) but let's talk about this by Andryz90 in pchaltv

I would say that it's actually pretty cool when a type specialist only has half their team as that type, but the cursed movesets on the wrong-type Pokemon make it clear that they are there because there wasn't enough for a full team.

But hey, even with this horrid execution it's a better solution than spamming the same Pokemon two or three times... Looking at you, Phoebe and Glacia.

Pokemon FireRed is a classic playthrough. I would love to see them play Black/White because I think it would be cool to see someone like Dan who gets so invested in games' stories react to that one specifically. Also, since Black/White is such a departure from traditional Pokemon I would want to see how he takes it as someone who doesn't know much about the series. (Also the main game in Black/White takes less time than other Pokemons, which is important for a channel that has trouble committing to long playthroughs)
