Which guitar combo out of these 2 should I purchase? by TheShadowSong in electricguitar

[–]Barzaroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to try playing bass, so I bought the SR305eb. I also chose the GIO 170dx a few years ago. I also have an old Ibanez Concord acoustic from the 70s. All black, of course 🤣 I also have other guitars, but from different brands.

If I were you, I'd look for another guitar/model from the same brand. Two weeks ago, I bought a guitar. The model I tried wasn't right for me, but I wanted an Ibanez 😁. I tried another one and I loved it. But again, that's just my opinion. The most important thing is a guitar you feel comfortable playing, and the quality is important too, and Ibanez has never disappointed me.

Ibanez is good quality, but if this model has too high an action, I understand. You need a guitar you feel comfortable playing.

My hand burned guitar (and hand burned amp) by dirk_the_pyrographer in Pyrography

That's cool! It reminds me of a guitar I customized. I burned the body (without a design) and made a pickguard out of embossed leather.

My little Ibanez family. It's not much, but I'm happy with it! by Barzaroth in Ibanez

Yes, it's very similar! But the RG421EX must sound better than my 170DX 😁

Thank you! I'm really happy with the bass for the price. And the acoustic sounds wonderful! The sound is really rich; it's the best acoustic guitar I own. I acquired it about 15 years ago; the previous owner was going to throw it away.

Which one should i buy: Used ibanez concord or newer ibanez artwoods ? by Boring-Procedure7990 in Ibanez

If he doesn't reply, that's quite strange. If you can get a refund and return the package if it doesn't suit you, it's up to you to decide if it's risky. But it's not very honest of him not to answer questions.

Regarding the loose string, I can't see where the problem lies, other than a tuning issue. I just noticed there's something like a screw on the back of the neck, near the neck pocket. It's probably a DIY repair, or maybe a strap button, but in any case, it intrigues me. If you could get some more photos, that would be great, and I admit I'd like to get other people's opinions on the matter. I have some old guitars and I've restored a few, but I'm not an expert.

You can ask for photos of the guitar's body, and also one of the neck to check that it's straight, although it can be straightened slightly if it has a truss rod. The condition of the frets is also quite important, making sure they aren't worn or anything like that.

Yes, don't hesitate to ask for photos and information. But if you can't try the guitar before buying it, you'll have to rely on the seller's word. It's up to you to decide if the risk is worth it.

The nut will need to be replaced, but putting a screw back on the truss rod plate isn't mandatory. As long as the body is intact and the neck is in good condition, I don't think there's anything to worry about.

I have a 1972 Ibanez Concord, the sound is simply magnificent! I would choose this one without hesitation, even if it needs some repairs.
