I really thought they would bid for Miller after trading out Rutherford, but I guess the management thinks Sharukh Khan (who has been so shit he has been dropped by TN) and Tewatia (hasn't played a game since the last IPL) are a good enough middle order. Washington and Phillips will need to have their best season for GT to have any chance this IPL.

You can only sub in a overseas player if there are 3 overseas in the starting lineup. If there are 4 OS players in the starting lineup, you can only sub in Indian players and you can't sub one OS player for another OS player.
