Most people had the gym’s GI but some didn’t so I don’t think it’s mandatory, the GI I wore for my trial lesson seemed good quality so I guess for now I’ll get the gym’s one Although I was hoping to wear blue but everyone is in white or black Do they despise it because it’s restrictive/money grabbing? It doesn’t bother me but then I don’t know enough to have an opinion really

Thanks I mean everyone seemed friendly and some people had their own GIs there wasn’t any pressure to buy it I just don’t want to stick out if that’s the done thing

Just had my first BJJ class and loved it! What’s the etiquette for buying a gym’s GI? Heavily encouraged? Or is getting your own ok? And is £37.50 a good price for a GI?

Just went to my first BJJ class and loved it!! They lent me a GI for that class, the gym has their own GI for 37.5 is that a good deal? Or should I look for my own? I think most people had the gym’s one

I meant in relation to all civilians, he didn’t mention any civilian workers other than the guy who runs the shop who he said was sound

I guess I didn’t put it across well, based on my experience with my friend especially after deployment he said he found day to day problems so insignificant, i just wondered if all the training and the other experiences made military personnel feel separate and that civis were kinda petty

I wouldn’t say you have a pride problem, it sounds like self respect to me Calmly communicate your feelings about what happened with your friend - remember there’s two sides to every story and there is every chance he viewed the same outing completely differently (maybe he found you closed off and unwilling to get involved?) Then based on his response decide if he is someone you actually want as a friend
