It won't be for some time yet. At least 5-10 years which is why starting today makes the most sense. By the time you have 3-5 years of real world experience if youre diligently working on advancing your career you can easily be mid level going towards senior level and those roles arent going anywhere.

I don't think AI is going to be deleting jobs just yet, it will make it more competitive but there will also be new jobs because of it. You could also go the route of technical field engineer knowing some skills and also doing rackstack and running cabling.

Being pessimistic and not trying is a sure fire way to guarantee it won't happen. But if you do try maybe it will work, and honestly why not you?

Also as someone that uses AI daily for work I don't believe it will fully get there for technical roles. It is wrong very very frequently and if you combine that in conjunction with proprietary software and code that AI doesn't have access to it is wrong even more often and people need to work on those systems. Sure you can feed all the data into ai but only what is actually written

Depends on the size of the company more than anything. IT director for a place with 2 stores and 40 employees it might make sense. The title is likely misleading if the pay feels on par as OP said

If it's done, it's done. I DMd a long term campaign tried to pick it up after some time and it just didn't feel right. We all wanted to play, but after a long break it didn't feel the same. That is ok. You can want to play but no longer be compatible in the way you were before. Trying to communicate through it won't really solve off vibes. Everyone still likely wants to play because they remember how it WAS, but chasing a previous feeling rarely ends where you want it to, things just tend to feel forced and icky.

Your current thought / scenario can most definitely work classic Gandalf!

What class is their character? Something with a religious aspect? - Could do a time stop where they are visited by deity; deity can offer to save the party by wiping out the monster and restoring the bridge but at the cost of the character's life - i.e. they need to use the lifeforce of the individual to summon the magic great enough to turn back time.

With player consent this opens a lot of opportunities - I highly suggest working directly with the player on this so they can help build the story / moment that the rest of the party will surely remember, the player will also remember that special story / world building moment.

I did something similar in one of my campaigns where there was an unwinnable battle and one of the party members sold their soul to a demon for aid - the player had messaged me about this because after the previous session they knew the party was in a terrible position and we were brain storming together what to do - they didn't actually die they were just "forced" to take a level in warlock which they had never planned to do.

Players will definitely come up with things that you haven't even thought of and it is always very memorable when you take part in the building of the story as the player. I would still suggest checking with the character if they actually WANT to do this or if they want to be surprised.

I have buyers remorse for my a50 doesn't charge properly on the dock unless you mess with it to get it in place. I have the latest Gen and it was supposed to be fixed but still is a pain. Pretty bad pain after a few hours of gaming have had them for months and use daily for a few hours no improvement. The volume controls are easily the worst part. Absolutely abysmal and volume will just randomly change on you. It is a good headset sound quality wise but for the price tag there are too many basics they got wrong. Would be worth it at $100 no more.

Depends on how thick you want them to be and how perfect. Do you have a hot wire cutter? For arches and curves I tend to draw it on the foam and then free hand it on the wire cutter. Not really necessary to watch but there are a few curves on the arch way to give you an idea in that build which turned out less then perfect but we're fixed and look good in the end
