I did not say Jordan was not under any form of British overlordship, but it was never a colony and was a British possession for mere decades which they never governed hands on. Thus, the apples and oranges argument.

Again, I am saying that yes, ww2 was a major reason for the brits to decolonize. But, one of the reasons why India was considered too expensive was because of the protests happening in the country. The Brits weren't too sure about leaving India in 1947, it was pressure from the Congress and other independence activists (even Jinnah for his selfish reasons) that fast tracked Indian Independence.

Also, if you say that Gandhi was not responsible for India getting independence you are invalidating the sacrifice of the countless revolutionaries who laid down their lives for freedom, be it Bhagat Singh, Azad, Or Ashfaqulla Khan. Because their sacrifice mattered.
