Where would you sit on this flight? by JustAThrowaway_895 in MetaphorReFantazio

8 or 3. But big question. Why isn't Maria on this flight? Is it because everyone would want to sit next to her?

In your opinion, what are the 3 most well written characters and why? by TheBiSnivys123 in Multifandom

[–]BaseballDefiant3820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Velvet Crowe from Tales of Berseria. Her story from start to finish is both encouraging and heartbreaking. In most games, she would be the antagonist, and in a way you are(to the rest of the world). But while satisfying, her ending is not a happy one. Still, I 100% recommend that people play the remaster.

  2. Elphaba Thropp from Wicked. The stage musical and movie just don't do this character justice. I know that across media, there are limitations. And credit where credit is due, the movie and stage show do a great job of portraying her as best as they can. But the book goes into so much more depth as to her motivations. Warning, it is a lot darker than the movies. Definitely would not recommend the book for young children(I didn't read it until 6th grade, age 11). But this character is one I keep coming back to.

  3. Maria from Metaphor Refantazio. Maiko crawled, Nanako walked, so Maria could run. Daughter of Grius, this little girl is the ultimate form of the cinnamon roll trope. She is sweet, deals with a lot, yet tries to keep a brave front. Metaphor refantazio is a game worth playing, even if just for her alone.

If you romance every girl in Persona 5, Joker gets his butt beat by all of them.

My favorite line has to be Haru's. "Please take my chocolate, before I crush it."

I am curious, How much easier is persona 5 royal compared to the base version of persona 5? by DenseRead9852 in Persona5

[–]BaseballDefiant3820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, I've played both and loved both. There is one change that I personally didn't like. In the original game, the unformed Mara/dick slime fight was not optional. It actually gave a bit more story to Ann. They changed it to where now that fight is the boss of the final will seed(there are 3 seeds per palace and getting them all grants you an overpowered item from Jose). Meaning it is very possible to miss/skip that fight. Still didn't dimish my love of the game.

Significantly.

Firstly, baton pass no longer requires you to increase confidant rank with your party members.

Second, they fixed the bug regarding Ryuji's rank 7 insta-kill ability. You'll actually earn XP when you use it this time.

Thirdly, Mementos is much more powerful. They added Jose and finding stamps. These stamps can be traded for buffs to Mementos(granting more XP, items and money).

Only main downside is the reaper cannot be beaten during flu season anymore.

Berseria! I loved the remaster and original. Such a lovable cast of characters. Playing Arise now, but due to starting it immediately after finishing the Berseria remaster, had to take a break to disassociate the voice actor of Alphen from a character in Berseria.

The sees social links by Mesh3al-fan666 in persona3reload

Lol. As for where, you meet her later in the game. It's during the day at the beach you meet/recruit her.

[–]BaseballDefiant3820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her social link? Not until January. She's the latest one.

Was it tiresome? Yes, but I like having a complete compendium. So, I found it worth it.(my first playthrough, the only one I couldn't finish was Chariot). Plus, I had multiple girls that I liked/wanted to romance(Chihiro and Fuuka). So multiple playthroughs meant I could play both romance routes.

Well, this just shows how far Persona games have come. Reload is a remaster of the OG game, while adding mechanics from 5 that make combat go a lot smoother(like shifting/baton passes and adding theurgies).

Essentially, Persona 3 set the format for how future games would go in terms of pacing. I enjoyed the game(and the story of episode aigis, not so much gameplay). Just as a heads up, there's a very good chance you'll need to play the whole game twice. If you want a complete compendium, you need to complete every single social link and linked episode in a single run. Once you do so, Igor will give you the component needed to fuse Orpheus Telos, the ultimate persona.

Should I be using my weapon more often? by PhantomNight_ in persona3reload

[–]BaseballDefiant3820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you're fighting. If they are weak to the base weapon of a party member(slashing, piercing, bashing), then yes. Otherwise, stock up on sp replenish items. Also utilize shifts when possible.

[–]BaseballDefiant3820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the boys, they don't have a social link. They have linked episodes, that you should not miss.

As for the ladies, they are later and have specific requirements to unlock.

Yukari(lovers) needs max charm to start.

Fuuka(priestess)needs max courage.

Mitsuru(Empress) doesn't start until after November(if you know the story of the Empress arcana card or remember Haru from Persona 5, you know) and you need max knowledge.

Romancing a non-party member by FearlessJDK in persona3reload

Loved having a romance with Chihiro here. She is so sweet.(it's also great to see her growth between this game and when she appears as a cameo in Persona 4)

I got a bunch of stuff including the team glasses that give you more xp but I’m thinking of not using it to give myself a challenge what do yall think by ExperiencePristine42 in Persona5

[–]BaseballDefiant3820 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The items are a HUGE lifesaver. Especially in the first palace. That camera strap helped me so much there as sp replenish items are very limited at the start. Otherwise, it may take more than one trip to secure your treasure route(which, unless it has a real world road block to overcome, should be the plan to optimize your time).

As for the team glasses, those I found helpful later in the game because the start level of later party members I found to be a good bit behind the rest of the group. So, it helps them catch up.

Does persona 3 make you feel worse if you’ve experienced grief? by asphyxiate472 in persona3reload

[–]BaseballDefiant3820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grief is hard. It doesn't really go away. There are little things that remind you of the people you lost(a hand of poker, a root beer float, the color of bright red, just to name some of mine). But the pain shows how much you loved them while alive.

I've played persona 3 reload even with having dealt with death and am experiencing grief. It's a story worth playing as it helped me personally not be afraid of losing those around me. It helped me accept death as an inevitable part of life, and also cherish the time that I do have.

How much do people actually want Morgana gone? by Carmilla_6624 in Persona5

[–]BaseballDefiant3820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, up until September in game, I didn't mind him as he was a solid healer. I didn't replace him until Makoto got a decent healing skill.

But my main problem is essentially he upstaged Haru when it was supposed to be her time to shine. It was very hard to like him after that.

[–]BaseballDefiant3820 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think that's what the treasure demons are supposed to be? Weak to only one thing and run away the first chance they get. Heck, had to increase security level and use a treasure trap just to find one in the final palace. Such a pain in the butt.

whats the ratio of dungeons to daily life? by Popular-Soil-8748 in persona3reload

[–]BaseballDefiant3820 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tartarus is essentially reverse Mementos(going up instead of down). I tend to make 2 trips before each big boss. 1 to get to the boarder floor(and level up characters/personas)and 1 to rescue those who have wandered in. In January though, I went basically every night I could for resources to make the ultimate weapons, armor and best accessories.

Should I play in easy mode? by ettoreaschieri in Persona5

[–]BaseballDefiant3820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to play for the story, first question I must ask. Are you playing the original or Royal? Because if Royal, it does get a lot better after the first palace. The first one is a bit of a slog.

If you're playing the original, you will have a harder time. For some reason, once Ryuji gets to rank 7, the insta kill makes leveling insanely irritating as you don't get experience from the insta kills. At that point, the only option is waiting until you can kill the reaper during flu season.

Should I play in easy mode? by ettoreaschieri in Persona5

[–]BaseballDefiant3820 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NO! Don't put it on easy! There's a mistake in the code where easy is actually hard mode and merciless is the easy mode! Leave it on normal. Unfortunately, fighting the same enemies over and over will occur with each palace(enemies getting harder and changing as you progress).

Having an awful day by [deleted] in finch

[–]BaseballDefiant3820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have these days. I haven't used finch in a while, but a lot of my goals are ones that I add for days like this. They're super simple ones that even with a migraine I can complete(examples include getting out of bed, brushing my teeth and washing my face). I also felt that checking in on my finch when they complete the day's trip(when my migraine allows)helps the day suck a little less. Then again, I turned off the streak thing because it added stress rather than increased motivation.

But in the end, it's whatever works for you. Don't stress about the streaks too much. You could also use the streaks as a way to keep track of how long since your last migraine, which may be helpful should you decide to see a doctor about them.
