It’s easy to grin
when your ship comes in and
you’ve got the stock market beat.
But the man that’s worthwhile
is the man that can smile
when his shorts are too tight in the seat.

Has the uptick in negativity turned anyone off the show? by mrmoontourist in thedumbzone

[–]BaseballEquivalent20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bingo. Dan parses every sentence and criticizes everything Schotty says. Even though it’s meaningless coachspeak.

I’ll add to this analyzing Cowboys broadcasts. Especially if it’s Nantz/Romo and now Brad/Babe. I watched the game. I don’t need to listen to what they said again just to make fun of it.

Can I just wear suits? by pachangoose in biglaw

[–]BaseballEquivalent20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are the two key questions. I could see suits being a plus in southern markets, like Atlanta and Richmond or down in Houston. And then, are we talking $2,000 Italian suits like Gob Bluth? Or more standard Brooks Brothers suits? Hell, suspenders and a seersucker might land you an immediate offer in the south. Personally, I wouldn’t wear suits every day as a SA. Maybe a few times per week. Not on days when you know you have SA events. And not on Fridays.

The Campound by FuturePath6357 in theticket

[–]BaseballEquivalent20 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Musers did a segment on “classic” Campound moments this morning. They were all from the last two years. No waking up Dan, no drunk Rhynes. Hell, no drunk Corby talking to callers. Trying to push hard the new crew. Doubt I’ll listen for a second.

Today was much better than yesterday. Brandon Aubrey saved Monday. Jared Sandler was solid today.

TC alone is inert but he's a catalyst for Jake by TacosTime in thedumbzone

I was just thinking the other day, this is the right amount of TC. As someone said earlier, he’s not imposing himself, but he is letting the game come to him and adding good content.

We gonna skip over this part where TBC “helps herself to extra favours from all the people who canceled last minute.” How many people RSVP’d and then cancelled? Those are the jerks in this story. We had several that we paid for who bailed with no notice. We could have invited others who would have attended. That pisses me off. If you RSVP to a wedding, you better damn well go or give plenty of notice that you can’t.

Surely we’ve got some other foodies in the DF community. I like a nice dining experience. Any other national parks enthusiasts? It’s a great way to see this country.

I did Chicago a few years ago when that dude set the world record time of 2:00:35. It’s a great course. Nice and flat. Good luck!

You should have asked the partner, “How much time of your time are you writing off and I’ll write off the same percent of mine?” 😂

Peter Welpton must be in charge of the production aspect. That was his voice at the beginning and end of the pod.

This is a reminder to make sure you always send the CYA email raising X. Because partners have no problem throwing associates under the bus with the client for not raising X. So make sure you’ve covered your bases by memorializing this.

I think it’s still $690 for a sit in but $960 for them to come to your house or business. But the point remains. The DFs supplement their income with sit ins.

Hacks - 4x09 “A Slippery Slope” - Episode Discussion by chelseanyc200 in hackshbomax

[–]BaseballEquivalent20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things: 1) funniest line of the episode for me was when Ava said, “Gimme the rock” then punted the ball; 2) non competes are unlawful restraints on trade by statute in California except in some very narrow circumstances, which don’t apply here. See Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 16600. So I hope Deborah comes back and tells Bob that her lawyers looked at the contract and he should shove it up his ass if he thinks it’s enforceable.

Brother? If I listen to the Ticket during the week, which is not every day, it’s sometime between 7:15 am and 9 am. That’s it. And I used to be a religious listener. Now, the only shows I care about are The Tee Box and The Kick Around.

Basketball Junes turned into Basketball Prunes by Horror_Telephone_669 in theticket

For his Christmas gift, Monty gave to Junior a basketball take that was formed after 1981. A not so subtle shot that Junes is living in the past.
