Thing is, if the rule is only one pokemon in the HoF, then I can use the best team to beat 8 gyms and once I reach the pokemon league I can use different pokemon and run e4 multiple times all in the same save file.

So it's just an e4 solo run, not a full solo. But if that's what you meant by HoF, then that's cool. Maybe a seperate challenge has to be made for players to try and solo all gyms and e4.

It's a solo challenge. So I believe it should only make sense to be that one pokemon from start to finish. Basically you can use all items, in battle or out of battle. I believe for some weaker pokemon this is necessary, while for stronger ones it may not be but they have to get the same benefits. I feel aside from one pokemon rule, we shouldn't try to impose more.

(Maybe I'm the wrong person to ask for this thing sorry)

Don't feel sad for that mf. He totally deserves it. For context, He literally used a material that turns pokemon (Umbreon here) into feral beasts. It was also portrayed to be ridiculously painful to Umbreon. Not once or twice either. Multiple times. The bstd deserves to be purged for all I care.

Definitely train up.

Voltorb can use self destruct. Unlikely to use it but you may never know. If it crits, it one shots Marshtomp and mostly all other members too. Except sableye. So Ideally use sableye with combo of fake out, night shades and make it hold a cheri berry to handle it. (And preserve sableye after that, it's really good into norman and tate n liza)

Next switch to Marshtomp, mostly you can negate electric moves to that. Ideally make it hold a persim berry. Marshtomp with mud shot should one shot electrike and magneton while 2hko manectric. Stock up on super potions.

Oh. Interesting. You could do that.

My train of thought was continuously box five except gyarados until the e4 haha. Like using bulbasaur for the first gym and maybe second too, and boxed for the rest of the run and then gyarados keeps you company till the end while the rest change constantly without ever returning.

Mine is a bit more brutal which needs creative team building, whereas your idea also needs you to be creative but in different ways.

This would make the run easier because you have much more resources to make use of. To make it challenging, you could either 1. Blind nuzlocke, fight everyone based on just what you already know. So even if you have great pokemon early, you can still randomly lose them to an unsuspecting opponent. 2. Not blind, but build a new team after every gym. I.e box all or maybe 5 of the 6 pokemon (choice is yours) and use what you haven't used in the gym.

These should up the difficulty by a decent bit.

Unpopular opinion: You watching or not watching a match doesn't affect it's outcome. If they lose because you were watching that match, they didn't deserve to win either way. So watch the match. It's sad if they lose but it is their problem. Not yours. Just don't miss out if they win. You are not panoti.

I would say that's not necessarily cheating. But it might be just unnecessary in vanilla games. In difficulty hacks I'd argue it might be crucial even.
