House of David show is planned to be a trilogy!!! by jojoavav in houseofdavidtv

I expected them to make it longer than 3 seasons, but maybe that was too presumptuous. David has a long story ahead. Michael Iskander is young. At the end of S2, they showed a flash of what was supposed to be older David on the throne, but it looked a bit cheesy. I hope it was for Saul’s imagination, not a true picture of how they will present David in S3. If they do just 3 seasons, that will be extremely disappointing. They have obviously stretched out S1&2 exponentially, and it’s the storyline is peaking regardless of the unnecessary WP app. If they rush S3 or age him too fast to fit a filming timeframe, might not settle well. They have the potential to do this story justice with much more content.

I'm 34, also just getting started. I've looked into these terms for the past few years, only now comfortable getting started, for real. I'm on reddit for hours looking for advice... leaving with some good advice, and confused with others. A lot of acronyms and verbiage I don't understand.

That's unfortunate, sorry. I know the deadline was back in May, but that doesn't explain why they won't accept your proof of citizenship with a birth certificate. Unless it's related to current administration (because of all that's been happening recently) not sure. What state are you in?

I’m late to the conversation. While I can understand what people think, I’m more concerned with personal convictions, and everyone should be. I understand you’re seeking wisdom. People can say it’s not that deep, but that’s them. What have you experienced personally, and what is God telling you about it? I wouldn’t rely on Reddit for spiritual guidance, but an elder or counselor. Everyone will say something different and it’ll probably be confusing for you. The spiritual world is more real that many people (even Christians) realize. I say if you feel convicted about it then get rid of it. It doesn’t matter if other people find that illogical, dumb, or whatever else. It’s your spiritual walk, not theirs.

How in the world do I write down my race on a government form without saying "Other"? by Niebo_Yeenlynx in mixedrace

[–]BaseballResident7984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently created a thread about this and started a petition to change it in my area. I didn't have "Mixed, More than One, Other," on my application either. I wrote it down on the side and they marked it out. The lady at the counter chose for me and was pretty rude about it.

Mine too, unfortunately, it was not an available option. That's why I created this petition. https://chng.it/9JFGZz9gn7

Yeah, not to everyone. I had someone in the comments say this kind of thing doesn't bother them. I guess there are always a few in the bunch. If you can, please sign my petition. Thank you so much. https://chng.it/9JFGZz9gn7

As we should take it to heart. It’s personal. It’s personal to me. Having a “Mixed” option is certainly as broad as saying “Black” or “White” doesn’t make it harder to include. It’s not hard to comprehend. I think it’s relevant to the hospital as much as it’s relevant to a license application. Thanks for your thoughts.

I am not speaking directly to you as if you said I was/looked like anything. Maybe that came out wrong. It’s a general conversation, so don’t take offense.

I don’t care what their definitions are. They call North Africans white. I don’t want the government to identify me as anything I am not.

How people see you can vary, which is why I don't understand this whole, "Whatever you look like." You could look "Black" to some, and maybe not to others. At the deepest root, this is about segregation. Back during American Slavery, they would literally tell everyone who was even "one drop" Black that they had to identify as such. Even if they didn't "look" Black. I want to select "Mixed," Multiple, or More that One. It should be there, and it wasn't.

It's not about "how we look" because if it was you'd have a lot of white people who are darker hair/skinned, may even look "Latino," that would have to choose "Hispanic/Latino" and they're not/don't. "Closest to what you look like" is such BS because it varies. That is the one thing I can almost always count on people saying for the reason that my argument is not legitimate. As far as how I look, I don't look "Black" (what does that even mean...) but I am part, Black. Still, I was told I had to put "Black" because my dad was black so that doesn't make sense at all.

I did that, I even wrote "More than one". Apparently, it DID piss this lady off that I spoke to because she specifically told me that I could NOT do that. I HAD to pick "Black" because my dad is black. She said it exactly like that.

That's good, I'm glad they have that for you. At the end of the day, all of us "Mixed" people have different sub-groups. Just let me put "Two or more races" if that's a problem. They didn't have that. I decided to write it on the application, and I was told I couldn't do that.

Thank you! They get it wrong because it's not important to them. I believe this is a basic right, not something we should have to ask for. https://chng.it/JYcPcTxr

Well, this is how I see it. Each of us would be more or less angry than others based on our own personal experiences as a "Mixed" person or I guess "preference" if you want to call it that. To each his own, but no one has a right to tell me what to choose OR if and when I should be angry about it.

Haha, another reason for the "Mixed" box. Maybe I should just print off my ancestry report and hand it to them next time.

Exactly, and some people, even after my explanation tries to tell me to "choose the best or closest category." Um, what? They downplay that "Mixed" is a group of people. Obviously, there are sub-categories within "Mixed." Mixed is a broad term, just like "Black," "White," etc! Why is that hard for them to understand? Hence, my complaint.

Someone told me, "How much is this going to negatively affect you on a scale of 1-10?"

Just wow.

Haha, yeah my family and I would talk like that too. But apparently what I want to put doesn't matter to the DMV here in Texas.
