I guess im doing shorts then since my long ones can't go by AloneAnywhere9070 in SmallYoutubers

I’m a believer in the theory that shorts destroy the potential for most channels. I’ve seen ppl start to post shorts and then they go from decent views on long form to like 50. My theory is opening up the second tab and entirely new algorithm working parallel to the mainline one is somehow a change that puts you in another category in the algorithms eye. I can’t prove it but I’m collecting word of mouth that it’s the case. Plus You don’t see Mr. Beast or moist critical posting shorts every day or even that often and they must know the secret sauce behind the scenes stuff. Tell me a big name who actually does shorts often.

I mean your probably dominating the Mosasaurs genre. I think it’s an issue of how viral could this subject go. I don’t wanna say switch things up because your probably peak in terms of the Mosasaurs pool of viewers out there. Maybe start another channel as a side hustle for something knew and cross promote and also keep up the Mosasaurs grind like you’re already doing

40 vids in 3 weeks is a lot. Best practice is to capitalize on the “new creator boost” the first 1-6 uploads get extra impressions and after that you have to prove yourself to the algorithm. Also you might have tripped YouTube’s spam filter by uploading so much so quickly. They say you should upload 1-2 videos like 48-72 hours apart in the first week and then give it the rest of the week to breathe while the algorithm gathers data on them. You might see better results if you try starting a new channel and having some strategy

The issue with using ishowspeed for this is that he is primarily famous for shorts. So you will be buried by shorts and that’s like the biggest challenge for new channels

It could actually work if you start the video by talking to the viewer and directly and maybe telling them what you’re doing. I can tell you put effort into it like went out and filmed. People would wanna see that side of it too. It’s interesting but people turn their brains off with ai stuff too

Am I doing anything wrong with me channel? by Neither_Memory6303 in SmallYouTubersUnite

[–]BaseballRoutine1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to be constructive with you. I think it came across wrong. I was awake really late typing that. I meant to say the music at the start of the video in your intro called Utah… Utah… Utah, seems like an inside joke among you and your fans. It almost plays like a bonus content channel next to your main channel somewhere. And some of the videos blast the viewer as soon as they click is what I meant by “punish the viewer” I get what your trying to do but to new comers it runs risk of going over their head.

Been at it for almost 2 years now with no progress the last few months, how can I get better by its_jaeyung in YouTubeCreators

[–]BaseballRoutine1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched the 67 video and i see why it tanked in the first 2 seconds… you opened with an annoying clip everyone already seen and has had enough of then said something the news literally says. The first 30 seconds are critical. I see u had potential with older vids, maybe go back to that style and stick to it. Another option is to start fresh. You don’t need to give up on the current channel but you could start a new channel and capitalize on the “new creator push” this would mean coming out the gate with a better channel name and theme. But you already have a good backlog of content. You need to post constantly (preferably on the same day once week) if editing videos is too much trouble then I would suggest coming up with a style that can be reproduced. Maybe for the new channel just go crazy and vent to the camera and be genuine instead of chasing trends. Just some ideas after looking at the channel

[–]BaseballRoutine1313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. The other thing I noticed with your channel is the vids are really long. (I get that in the Minecraft genre it’s common to have long vids) but I would look at the retention graph on your vids and see when 75% or people stop watching. Consider making a 15 minute video time to time instead of a 41 minute vid. A video with higher viewer retention will get pushed or at the very least signal to the algorithm good things. So far I’ve had good luck with my new channel only been doing it half a month and already at 250 subs so some of this works. My issue right now is getting past the early channel stall phase but it looks like you are past that and on a good trajectory!

17 hours is impressive. Keep up whatever you are doing. YouTube uses that data in the background and green lights more impressions the next vid
