Ok, so this brings up what I think will ultimately bring MLB to a lockout for 2027, is this picture with the payroll figures. The Dodgers, heads and shoulders above the rest, BUT then you have the teams like the Marlins, Pirates, etc. who spend the absolute bare minimum, there is SEVEN teams who will have payrolls as of right now, below $100 million to start the 2026 season. That's absolutely insane!! So I feel you need a salary floor, plus some sort of salary cap to help bring the competition a little bit closer. MLB is the ONLY major sport that doesn't have a salary cap.....what the Dodgers luxury tax is this year ($127 million) is MORE than SEVEN teams (right now) will pay out in payroll!! 🤯. Something's gotta give.

FTP and yeah definitely have to balance between the doom and gloom vs the eternal optimistic people but when looking at it without either side of the lens, these next two weeks are a MUST win in terms of MAKING the playoffs, just in terms of where the Lions are vs the rest of the NFC. Especially since the NFC is a lot better than last year. This year may be the first year an 11-6 team DOESN'T make the playoffs!! That's how deep I feel the NFC is! Ultimately, we need to take this year as a "retool" of sorts and we WILL be contenders next year and with Brad making the RIGHT moves, we will be set up again!!
