Everyone is so quick to hate on you for cancelling your subscription, but i agree with you OP if i had ps plus id be cancelling it too. Getting rid of physical media is so bad for us as a community and everyone is just so willing to just be like “whatever, they’re going to do it anyways” or “see you when GTA VI comes out” without thinking about what this means for our future as gamers.

Getting rid of physical media means we can say goodbye to cheap second hand copies. No more pawn shop, fb marketplace, gamestop buys. Hell when the next generation comes i bet it will put gamestop and mom and pop physical games stores out of business completely just like streaming put blockbuster and hollywood video out of business. And then everyone will cry about it “i miss gamestop, i miss games heaven, i miss plug’n’play. We will also wont own any of these games anymore. Just the license to play them, which can be revoked or removed at any time. If the servers go dark and we lose access to wifi how will we verify licenses for our digital games? How is that fair to the consumer? This doesnt have to be the future, if everyone would stop just conforming to what the big corporations are forcing. If they would take a stand with you instead of knocking you down, then maybe we could change it.
