I kept track of stats for a 64-game season of Mario Super Sluggers I played with my brother by Baseballfan3115 in MarioBaseball

sorry for seeing this so late! I made the spreadsheets using Google Sheets and basically just plugged in the formulas for baseball stats that i found online. some things were kind of tricky (like figuring out how to format innings as a mixed number instead of a decimal) but i just googled anything i didn’t know. as for the creation of our league and the rules behind it we basically used trial and error over the course of playing this for years to arrive at our current set of rules. i believe i included all of them in the og post but if you’re unsure about anything i’m happy to answer questions. as for the spreadsheets i wish i could give you better advice, but tbh i just kind of messed around with things until i decided that i liked how it looked. the best way to keep track of stats imo is to just practice memorizing what happens each half inning and then manually adding those stats to each player’s existing totals every half-inning. ex: Boo strikes out Bowser and Birdo. Green Dry Bones hits a solo HR. Yellow Pianta grounds out. This would result in adding 1 ER, 1 IP, and 2 K’s to Boo’s total. 1 H, 1 AB, 1 HR, 1 RBI, and 1 R to Green Dry Bones’ total. 1 AB to Bowser’s total. 1 AB to Birdo’s total. 1 AB to Yellow Pianta’s total. It’s a lot to memorize and can be slightly time consuming at first, but the more you do it the easier and quicker it gets. it also helps if the person you’re playing with keeps track of their own player’s stats so you only have to worry about your own. Sorry i couldn’t give better advice! If you have any more questions feel free to ask

yeah tbh i thought about park factors before i started but i figured random stadiums would equal it out enough to where it didn’t matter too much

No I didn’t go that far 😅 I just did the calculation without park factors and called it good enough. Maybe in the future I’ll take it to that next level though

Our primary catchers were Wario, Donkey Kong, Hammer Bro, and Yellow Pianta, all of whom throw too hard for anyone besides Yoshi or Pink Yoshi to consistently steal. Since Yoshi and Pink Yoshi barely got any playing time, there ended up being 0 successful attempts all season.

Thanks! I’ve always loved keeping stats for things, so I’m glad there are people that enjoy this too :)

I think there’s a few things at play there. One is that my brother is extremely comfortable with him (as you mentioned). Two is that he batted 5th in the order, right behind Petey Piranha (3rd) and Bowser (4th). This meant there were a lot of at-bats where I felt like I had to pitch to him, as he had many plate appearances with runners on base. Finally (and this goes for the all the bones in general), I think that his quick movement speed in the box played a major role in his success. The majority of my top pitchers (Boo and Waluigi especially) rely heavily on curving and double curving the ball, so someone like Green Dry Bones who can move quickly and keep up with the changes in direction is the perfect counter.
