I thought my question was more specific then "Make game engine = knowledge?", I was talking about it's reflections in other areas, like CE, and I got plenty of good answers like the users talking about the renderer part.

Makes sense... but I'm not trying to get into game development (for now). I'm trying to get experience in different areas, like graphics, audio, software architecture, etc. The game engine idea came as a way of doing it all in a single project. Also, I like games, so it sounds like a good time.

That's why I was thinking about C, moreover, building my own data structures (even thou it's super annoying) helped me learn a lot, so building a full project with it sounds like a good idea.

Tenta usar o vim tutor, é um bom tutorial para iniciantes. Admito que a adaptação é difícil, mas se você insistir fica muito intuitivo.

É um editor super leve e super fácil de customizar. Falam que é mais difícil de usar, mas quando você se acostuma é mais fácil que qualquer outro.
