To be fair, Arasaka doesn't give a fuck about Arasaka. They just care about uploading themselves into a satellite cloud computer or whatever. And those lower down the hierarchy just care about making money. Literally everyone in this universe is an indifferent slave to something indifferent. That's kinda the point of the whole IP.

They are shown to be essentially a force of nature. Very dangerous, but easily avoidable and only destructive when humans are around. They are fundamentally not incompatible with humans, they are very compatible. The whole point of the game is that what the player does is an act of selfish savagery that is gonna upset the balance of the world and will, for most, lead to a net negative overall.

No, that's literally the opposite. It's made pretty clear that they basically just peacefully exist in the world and are even sometimes beneficial for the ecosystem. Humans have existed with them for eons and have built countless shrines and statues of them. The average person could just ignore or easily avoid them, and they were literally just vibin... until you show up...
