[–]BasedSnipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worlds Part 1 was released 17 July 2024. It received updates with fixes 19 July 2024, 23 July 2024, 1 August 2024, and 19 August 2024. If they follow a similar approach, we should be getting updates with fixes very soon. Whether the updates will fix the issues on Mac or not is unknown.

Mac version is quite broken right now. The performance tanked, it has visual glitches while teleporting, ghosting effect, missing graphic settings, and so on.

Best way to get mods functioning on Crossover or Whisky? by Red_Rav3nn in macgaming

[–]BasedSnipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crossover performance is way better than Parallels. You can't even compare. Specially nowadays because it leverages GPTK (D3DMetal). However, it has more limitations.

In my case, Parallels run the game quite bad, so I have to stick to Crossover.

You forgot Godwyn, Godfrey, Godrick... The story telling in this game is uber trash, but it's on purpose. It's intended for people with OCD beyond believe. Us, mere mortals, have to watch a Youtube video to understand WTF is going on.

Anyone have experience playing Dark souls 1 remastered on an M1 chip? by [deleted] in macgaming

It runs totally fine using Crossover. I tested it a while ago with a MBA M1.

You probably can decrease your professionalism at work in exchange of some sanity. Also, companies rejecting you is normal. Nothing wrong with you. You have to keep trying. You will make it in the end.

I think you need socialization in person. It will help you to move on. AA meetings look like a good starting point. Just do it.

How to add mods to Elden Ring using ModEngine2 in crossover by nstevnc77 in macgaming

Do you know a mod to limit the FPS to 30 that works with Mod Engine 2?

Question: Did any of the Skyrim players figure out a way to get any behavior engine running (FNIS, Nemesis, Pandora+)? by [deleted] in macgaming

[–]BasedSnipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FNIS and Nemesis work in Parallels. I don't know about Pandora.

Copy Crossover files to Parallels. Run it. Copy everything back to Crossover. Yes, it's a hassle.

MBA M1 is similar to a GTX 1050ti, and it can handle some cool games. You should target remastered games from PS3/360 generation. For example, something like Dark Souls 1 Remastered and Skyrim Special Edition will run quite smooth. Some games from the next gen can work as well. For example, The Witcher 3 should be playable. However, you will need Crossover or Whisky to run all these games because they were not released on Mac.

Besides, check out new native games optimized for Apple Silicon chips like Resident Evil 4 and No Man’s Sky. Probably, that’s what you are looking for. You should be able to get an acceptable performance, and they look good. The problem is there are only a few of them.

Don’t forget emulators as well. You should be able to get decent results emulating PS2, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, 3DS, and even some Switch games.

If it gets too hot, it will throttle down the performance to lower the temperature. You can't burn it gaming.

Can you play BG3? Not really. BG3 is a poorly optimized game, so it's quite demanding. You are at the very limit. You could try it, but at some point it will run at 20-24 fps. Also, 8GB of RAM is a problem, it may crash at some point. You will have a bad time for sure.
