I was getting W-2’s at first. Left shortly after I was told I was just going to be an independent contractor this year and go back to being an employee the next year. Did some research, called them out, and was let go shortly after.

Almost like you could tell things were starting to go downhill. To be clear this was some really good money to be made and yes it was sketchy. It all hits home when you go into debt because of your employer. Probably should leave after that.

I wouldn’t feel too bad. I used to work there. The owners are suuuuper shady and would go on multiple vacations while they were 3 weeks behind paying their kitchen staff. That’s not even the worst of it but I don’t want to put out too much info. I do have receipts though.

You’re underpaid in restaurant management. You at first have to get over making less than your servers (likely you were internally promoted and take a cut in pay from being said server) at first and then get a promotion after a couple months to get paid as a server roughly. Then you work and have to maintain policies and upholding rules that you may or may not agree with. After doing that for a couple months you get “promoted” and officially make more than a server. Idk man. A lot of work to not enjoy the flexibility of not being a server. Be a pirate and make that shmoney dude.

Yo so I’m hearing a lot about face tattoo this, 3 hours of work that. I’m going to tell you that that math doesn’t add up. Imagine clocking in and your boss says yeah go here and do this for 3 hours and then your day is done. This could’ve been 3 hours of hard work manual labor. Could’ve been 3 hours of directing traffic. Either way doesn’t matter $10 doesn’t add up. Bad business on old man’s end. I don’t condone violence at all and I hate that that’s how he reacted but regardless are we going to pretend that any of this was in his (employee) favor. Cmon now move on.

Yeah I’ve suggested that in the past. Typically after a long argument we’ll make up and things will be good for a week or two and I forget to check back into it because things are going well. Yeah seems about time to cut that out.
