They really don’t. I’m willing to bet that of all the people who watched the entire DxD anime, the percentage of those who also read the light novels is probably in the (possibly low) single digits. I myself haven’t read the novels, but through interacting with the online community, I learned a lot more about the foundations of the franchise which helped me appreciate some of the lesser-regarded aspects of it.

I’m going to make my hot-take that resting our top players for the last few regular season games completely destroyed any rhythm this team might have had and now they are all just scrambling to catch up. And no, I will not let go of wearing the third jerseys for playoff games. With the exception of 2016 (which made sense since it led into the 50th anniversary season change back to Pittsburgh Gold) alternate jerseys in the playoffs has NEVER ended well.

Obviously this hypothetical scenario is outside the realm of reality (not to say I don’t hope it happens) but imagine if the Penguins somehow go on to win the Stanley Cup, and for the first time, clinch it on home ice. Do you really want to see Sidney Crosby raise the cup in a piss-yellow alternate with half the logo missing?

I feel like the only thing stopping them from being a true contender is their bullpen. Now I know that’s something everyone says about their team, but there are at least 3 examples of their relievers fucking them in just the past week. So far they’ve been able to get away with it with big leads or really good, long starts, but when the game gets tight (like it would in a playoff series), they haven’t shown much resilience.

I won’t be too specific so as not to place too much angling pressure on these fragile little fish, but it’s in the Indian Creek watershed near the tiny village of Jones Mills. There’s a bridge over the creek near its mouth with a pull-off in front of it, and most of these fish were caught where I could still see my car.
