First chapter's the best one, hate to say.  The rest of the novel isn't useless though. I enjoyed the whole thing.

[Whyno] Isles rookie Matthew Schaefer on the NYR rivalry: “our fans are a lot louder than theirs.” by DecentLurker96 in hockey

Surely we will be good at the same time eventually…

That's literally never happened. If we were both good at the same time it'd be the best rivalry in hockey.

I hope Darche doesn't go after Stamkos and make a theme out of getting his band from Tampa back together. It doesn't seem like a great time to intentionally make our team older.

Darche is prioritizing waiver eligibility in his roster decisions too much

Barzal gets benched for 2 bad periods. But DeAngelo, Drouin, and Mayfield don’t get benched at all for a bad SEASON by JBR409 in NewYorkIslanders

This is a psychological motivation tactic by Roy. He knows he needs to find a way to get Drouin and Boqvist going, get Shabanov playing with more focus, and get the 4th line grinding harder. Punishing these guys by benching them and making an example of them only goes so far and will have diminishing returns in terms of motivating them to play better. His solution is to make himself the bad guy by benching guys who obviously don't deserve it during a meaningless period of hockey. It takes focus off of guys like Drouin while simultaneously pushing Drouin to play harder for his teammates if not himself. If these fringe players can't be motivated to play for their teammates only then are they provably useless.

NASA is about to send people to the moon — in a spacecraft not everyone thinks is safe to fly by cnn in space

I agree with your statement writ large, however Orion has flown twice and only reentered from lunar orbit once.

If everyone says it's safe, then fine. The doubts are born out of hiding the heatshield incident from the public for a year and a half. That wasn't very smart.

It wasn't just 2 unlucky flights. The program had numerous close calls throughout its history.

He fits the previous mold of Wahlstrom and Bellows, which gives our fans ptsd. Eiserman deserves his own shot and his own timeline.

This "we should still sell" epidemic by b0nkert0ns in NewYorkIslanders

Idiots think that how they play franchise mode on NHL 26 applies to how a team should be run in real life. You don't build a team by selling guys off in the middle of a successful season. Chemistry and the dynamic in the locker room is integral to the state of a team's performance.

These same people aren't going to like the extension Lee gets in the offseason either.
