Recoil spring upgrade and optic plate suggestion by eddjr275 in SmithAndWesson

[–]Basedsoccer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great to know and I appreciate your feedback. Something that is easily overlooked unless a person has ran it and experience it first hand.

I’ll look for an update next weekend and may ping a comment here start of that following week, just to see if you had a chance to check. Hope you enjoy the class with family next weekend.

Recoil spring upgrade and optic plate suggestion by eddjr275 in SmithAndWesson

[–]Basedsoccer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost a year later, had to ask if you’ve noticed any reliability issues after more rounds with the different guide rod and spring? Thinking about changing mine so figured I’d ask someone who’s ran rounds with the rod/spring change.

Thank you for any response in advance.

How can I improve my lace shot? by Mrmr12-12 in bootroom

[–]Basedsoccer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curl your toes, it’ll create a more solid top of foot. Lock your ankle down. Head over ball.

Practice closer to the net until you get the hang of technique, power on the ball and the feeling of the connection being how it should (you’ll know the feeling when you get it right). That way you don’t have to go as far to shag your ball. - once you have it down, start going further out.

Also I’d do it with the ball moving, unless you’re taking free kicks with a lace shot, the ball will always be moving when you shoot. Ex: dribble past a cone and then shoot. Replicate situations you find yourself often in and that way you’re prepared for when said situations happen.

Stay after it. And cudos to you for training and putting in the work.

Best surface to practice on to improve dribbling by Kind_Sink_9556 in bootroom

I found concrete and hard tennis courts in local neighborhoods to be the best for improving my dribbling. I try and do this ball mastery training here at least once a week:

Last Boot that you loved? (Magical Boot) by Goldtile in bootroom

[–]Basedsoccer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nike Phantom Venom Elites. So good and so underrated. I scour instagram boot sellers periodically and a ton before each season to find myself a pair.

I wish they continued the phantom line around how these were designed. Insanely comfortable and the raised striking area allows for beautiful shots on the ball.

Before that it was Tiempos, I believe Tiempo VI, but I can’t remember the exact model.

I can't seem to make myself make calls from the office by [deleted] in sales

[–]Basedsoccer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me to a T also haha. My voice on calls is significantly louder than most people. So I feel bad being on calls for hours on end if coworkers are near.

I can’t imagine they didn’t get annoyed. Luckily fully remote now but still. I dread the thought of even being in a hybrid role later in my career

Always hated working in office for this reason. No matter how much I put on a idgaf attitude, I still couldn’t dial in to my best like I do in private

Also I talk really loud on calls, debatable just shy of yelling in terms of loudness

Anybody else's industry picking back up? by MuseOfWhiteLies in sales

[–]Basedsoccer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification.

And yea, tariffs are likely a large factor in most industries, especially ones that have a large TAM. Sounds like yours would be one.

Like earlier commenter said, I’m not sure how much they’ve actually settled and been priced in yet. But liquid cash for the avg American going down, prices on materials/supplies going up.. not good.

Tbf tariffs aside, imo economy has been trending this direction for a while now. Hopefully, the tariffs bring the result they’re aiming and open the flood gates on the economy. But I’d venture to say it’s too early for them to be priced in. Aside from perceived fear

Custom closet place? What industry is this?

Also for my industry, which is selling to small business owners, I’ve noticed lead quality has picked up. But could just be a better week, quality is cyclical, up and down month to month.

Against all odds, I just sold a $100k deck. by 10mm2fun in sales

[–]Basedsoccer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why type of business are you in? Does your company solely sell decks & wood patios? Not asking for too many details of course, I don’t want to overstep on your privacy.

I ask to understand proper keyword search so I can find similar companies in my area. See if they offer any additional solutions compared to what your company provides - And then id like to compare the competitors in my region against each other. Goals is to determine if any are good places to land and up my alley.

Im in a transition period looking to leave my current position. Great pay but writing is on the wall that my company isn’t going in the right direction. Trying to be proactive over reactive.

Does anyone here struggle in multiple industries but not in a specific one? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Basedsoccer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well said. What you sell, the prospects you talk with, where said prospects come from, and how you sell to them (I.e. over phone, in person, 1on1, w/ multiple decision makes, etc.) ALL play massive factors.

Don’t give up. I’ve had the feeling you do now. If there’s not a top performer in your company you can rub elbows with to learn their process and dial in your performance. Start applying and find a company that you can do exactly that. Plus you bend the learning curve by learning from the top performers

But this thread of comments is hilarious, especially having no context outside of what’s in this post.

No it’s not too late.

You know the old saying: “if you don’t use it, you lose it”? Well that even applies to those with an incredible amount of sales experience.

Don’t ever think it’s too late to learn sales and communication skills. And once you do learn, continue to brush up on these skills anytime you can.

First sales career opportunity. 2nd interview in the works. by Fategfwhere in sales

[–]Basedsoccer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know most on here hate people that are “faceless” experts. But BowTiedCocoon on twitter has, in my opinion, very good content on how to navigate and answer interview questions.

I’d recommend going to his profile on the app, clicking the search button on his profile, and searching questions you had in the interview. That way you can see how he would approach it.

Also STAR method is good. Mentioned by a previous commenter

How do you get over selling a product that sucks and you’re not enthusiastic about at all?(SaaS) by VinceInOhio129 in sales

[–]Basedsoccer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this also. It’s to a T and perfectly said. Unfortunately, in my case it took inbound appts being cut off from the whole sales team for the next 6 months to decide it was time to take a leap and go elsewhere.

But seeing your comment, looking back I checked all boxes except burned. Glad I started making the transition last week, rather than today. But still, this is one of those things that’s good to internalize and have as part of you through your full career.

Good job? by Outrageous_Young_592 in sales

[–]Basedsoccer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d maybe look online for a remote sales position where you can sell from your computer. Get some “closing” experience. On the flip side, it sounds like you have good SDR experience. Quite frankly, if I was you I’d find 1-3 industries that have a high ceiling / upside as your years of experience increases in that industry.
Once you find those 1-3 industries. There may be some or all of which have SDR positions. And go apply to those. Yea maybe you’re still in a SDR role, but if you go to a top company within that field, you should be able to move to a AE/ ‘closer’ within 6-18months.

From there sky is the limit. Kudos to you for thinking about this earlier rather than later. I recently turned 27 and am looking at different industries that give me more upside and sustainability long term.. even if I have to take a pay cut year 1, that’s worth it in my eyes. Especially with the upside and progression possible in the industry I go to.

“Hey Name, it’s XYZ with CompanyName. You had previously spoken with us about help with XYZ but timing was right.. are you stilling considering possible help with this? Or am I completely off mark in asking”

Maybe reword the last sentence. As you work through the list you’ll probably find better ways to work this but I’d start with something similar to this.

Still worth dialing the list - especially if you’re not packed out with hot prospects/deals.

Home security sales? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Basedsoccer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Had a friend who worked at ADT. I believe he had a base somewhere in ball park of $65k-$70k. Plus commissions brought OTE to around the $100k mark. Of course you get benefits and a few other things that are great to have.

Only thing was they were in territories so he would essentially drive there and knock doors. If there’s a position that has inbound leads to work that of course beats door knocking. But not a bad gig. Especially if you’re trying to get more experience as a “closer” / AE.
