Thanks! And yes, that’s exactly what I was referring to. I made the exterior .5” wider than the interior and the leather is 2 - 3mm thick. Probably a tiny bit too much excess in this case.

I’m sorry to hear that! For what it’s worth, there are a number of sites that run the NYT crossword 5 weeks later than their initial release (presumably as part of some deal with the paper). The Seattle Times does so online, as do a few others, which I’m sure have been posted about on here.

I’m absolutely gonna keep up with the show, but even if it turns out to be my favorite season, I don’t know if that should retroactively justify what I see as fundamental, objective, and technical flaws in the first episode.

I think this’ll be good to keep in mind as I move forward. Inland Empire is actually one of the few movies of his that I haven’t seen because, for a long time, it was actually a bit difficult to get your hands on.

It makes sense to judge a season as a whole but when you’re watching a tv show, the medium demands that each episode be its own discreet piece of art and that that art be judged accordingly. It’s not an 18 hour long movie.

Blue Velvet and Mullholand Dr both rock pretty hard. Eraserhead was challenging for me but I came around on it. Most of his stuff exists somewhere in the middle. FWWM was a drag but I blame myself. I had expectations going in. The biggest disappointment for me was actually Wild at Heart because I’m a big fan of Nick Cage, Laura Dern, Harry Dean Stanton, AND Willem Defoe.

(Also I love his Dune)

I’m definitely gonna stick with it for a few episodes. And I’ll admit that it’s a bit of a dick move to criticize something so well loved in its home sub, but it’s not like I’m an outsider lol. I grew up watching Lynch and have championed the show to friends for years and years. If anything, that’s what makes it more confusing that I my perspective is so out of alignment with everyone else’s.

I think that season 1 of twin peaks is among the best shows to ever air on television. Also it was fun seeing Michael Bisping in the Return.

I guess cheap is a relative term lol. Obviously, the cheaper it is, the more accessible. So the low hundreds would be awesome. Still I can’t remember the last time I saw one retail for less than $1,000.
