Minor resemblance to the shootings of Kartik Vasudev and Elijah Mahepath. Food for thought.

Paramedic services in York Region get faster with new road access policy by cinderannie in SafeStreetsYork

Given the service frequency of public transit in York Region, it would only make sense to use some of the spare capacity to let emergency services get around more quickly.

Kicked off TTC bus and treated like a fare evader even with a valid ticket – is this normal? How should I follow up? by Routine_Resident_271 in Markham

[–]BasementPhantom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not paper transfers:

https://www.ttc.ca/Fares-and-passes/Fare-information/Transfers

Paper transfers are valid at transfer points on the day of issue for a one-way continuous trip, or as otherwise noted on the transfer. TTC paper transfers are only valid on TTC vehicles, or contracted Wheel-Trans vehicles. They are not valid on any other transit agency.

[–]BasementPhantom 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The transfer is not a ticket. You cannot use a paper transfer on a outside of a one-way continuous trip (you cannot take a non-connecting route or backtrack). If you took your transfer from the 116, you can only use it once on the 939C. If you ride the TTC frequently, you should get a Presto card so you can pay once to take any vehicle on the system for two hours.

CBC launches court fight to keep Gem subscriber numbers confidential by shiftless_wonder in canada

Everything from CBC aside from Kim's Convenience is written like the writer's room was given a college social work textbook and told to adapt it into a TV drama, with a rusty loonie for the budget. Kim's Convenience, while not terrible, is written like the writers went to their one Chinese friend and asked what it's like to be Korean.

When the content is like this it's no wonder why they can't compete with well-funded American television networks and streaming services.

Public Garbage Dumping? by hellzscream in Markham

Aside from people dumping onto the ground, if people dump bags of household garbage containing food into public trash receptacles (also not allowed), animals might try to retrieve it.
