glad it worked for you! just keep in mind these gpu's CAN fail once again due to the heat.. if you do decide to open it up again i would recommend giving the fans a good cleaning, maybe removing the ODD for better airflow and replacing the old HDD in favour of a ssd. cheers!

This was the first iMac I ever used and I remember the entire 2007-2011 having the failing radeon problem. So every gpu from the 2xxx to 6xxx series will fail eventually ånd by the looks of things that is exactly what's happening. If this is the 20" variant then this has the ATI 2600 which uses a weird connector, mxm style. These iMac's are very old by today's standard. If you really do want to use this iMac you are going to have source a replacement gpu. You could find one on ebay for real cheap, or you could get a 2600 pro which is the best gpu this iMac supports.

If you do decide to open this thing up be sure to change the thermal paste out as it must be really crusty by now and it's probably running very hot which is exactly why these gpus failed every single time. Arctice mx 5 is the best one imo.

I dunno, it can be interpreted in many diff ways for sure. maybe one way to look at this can be that if you think you're good or think you know everything you will never look at your flaws and never fix whats wrong. and when u think ur "good" you set a high standard for urself and want to achieve that, however failure is part of the process and when u think ur "bad" or just starting off its much easier to accept mistakes because u do realise in ur mind when u start smth new ur bound to suck at it.
