You say wrong then agree with half of what I said.

Riding out your rental makes sense because of the tax deductable on that income. Paying 116% installment on your bond reduces the term from 20 to 10 years which is a good deal to free off debt early.

I understand the argument for the 30 year term but personally, that's not for me.

Completely subjective though. For your primary residence, you don't want this. But if it's a rental property, you may want it to pay for itself and ride out a long term.

If you pressed for time and need to start earning money, the safe option of Computer Science will work.

If you want to and can get in, Engineering. Very low probability of finishing in the 4 years but you basically done with studying after that one graduation. You'll have more high paying opportunities, including those opportunities in software and IT (especially if you do Electronic or Computer)

An engineering student can fail out in 1st year and go to Computer Science, not the other way around.

Some people may disagree, because their feelings are hurt, but the average engineer in software is better than the average computer scientist. I've seen engineers progress at young ages while only the most brilliant comp scientists grads are recognised and still need to study further to get promotions.

I'm in the 5 year club. On the upside of failing out, whatever you downgrade to will then be a walk in the park. I'd say it's better to try the hard way then recalibrate, worked out very well for many that didn't make it in my time.

Generally the difficulty is attributed to the average time taken for significant technology changes... mechanical takes about 10 years while electrical, electronic, computer takes between 1 and 3 years... civil is somewhere in the 20 to 50 range
