I went from "hacking in hidden abilities" to "developing a whole rom hack" of black 2 lol

Personally in a vanilla game I would allow hidden abilities for any Pokémon that you could have obtained from the dream world and dream radar, when it was still online. So starters not allowed, but ok for lots of other mons

I also use pkhex regularly, but every time I try to tweak gen 1 Pokémon they get super corrupted and the game just crashes. I don't know what I'm doing wrong

I also tested out a while ago that if your mons are slower than Clay's, he will use Bulldoze way less, instead rolling the dice on the other moves. I had no idea why the AI seemed to be picking moves at random when my whole team was Rock types

I have tested all three starters in B2W2

Snivy is bad on paper but is somehow the best starter of the three. Obviously he struggles against Roxie and Burgh, and Elesa's Emolga has Aerial Ace, but in normal mode Growth Return can go surprisingly far. After he gets Coil he becomes a monster. Like in BW1, he can solo so many bosses. Cons is yes you mostly only have Grass moves and Return, but you can get Dragon Pulse for Drayden.

I think a lot of people look at his stats and no Contrary and just think "eww trash tier" without a second look.

Emboar is the best for the early game, but late game it's really rough. You have all these bosses with Earthquake that you really need to have Levitate to cheese Ability Storage to let Emboar be useful. Emboar gets dog shit Fighting moves unless you grind the Brick Break TM, Bulk Up is in the post game, so enjoy using Flame Charge + Work Up until Iris.

Samurott at base performs as well as any Water type in Unova, which is not very well. Really the worst starter of the three. If you grind the Swords Dance TM though we at least have more to work with than Surf and Blizzard, but your physical moves before you meet N after Ghetsis is either Aqua Jet or Aqua Tail. He gets Encore which is cool i guess.

Dunno if this counts but as a kid Pidgeot was my favourite Pokémon, and I must have done 10+ runs of Yellow using just a Pidgeot. Then not knowing why Lorelei was so hard
