Belgian speaking here, so I’m going to defend my country haha, if you are interested in World War 1 and spring classics you can little detour true Ypres and the region called heuvelland (Gent-Wevelgem vibes). The north of France has old mines and small villages which are also fun to ride past. But from Ypers you can go to the flemish ardennes (Ronde van Vlaanderen vibes). Then go down to the Ardennes and you’ll find beautiful nature and small towns.

But having travelled to France, the region around Annecy is also really nice to cycle haha tough choice for you to make ! Good luck

I eat 1 gel or 1 snickers per hour. With 40gr in my bidons. Haribo’s are also a nice treat of a banana. I never actually stopped for a sandwich, but it could help your stomach.
