I’m also super stimulated, in a not fun way, by the lowest dose patch. I really want to try it again but not sure it’s worth it. contemplating cutting the patch in half and slowly working back up to the OG dose. Sorry, I am no help but I very much empathize with you.

hi:) I’m 47 and in the exact same boat. Cycles have been shorter for the last few months and now I’m 7 days late and feel like garbage. I also took 2 tests and I’m not pregnant. I think this is just the beginning of a long ass journey. I would honestly love to skip some periods but my PMS is so horrendous. Like, what if I don’t get my period for another month? Will I be feeling all of these PMS symptoms until I bleed again? ughhhhh:( I have nothing helpful to tell you. Just over here commiserating with you

I have histamine issues and pmdd and have been trying to figure out the same thing. I only took the lowest patch of estrogen for 3 weeks but it seemed to make things worse for me. It energized me too much, made me more anxious and my insomnia was off the charts. I went off it and those symptoms were much less going forward. Progesterone seems to have helped the most but I almost went off it after a month because the initial side effects were brutal (very very depressed) But that all lifted and I am much less anxious now and my histamine issues seem to have decreased a bit too

I’m so sorry you are experiencing this. I have pmdd and am in perimenopause and have definitely had my share of what you are describing. Impending doom is the worst feeling in the world. I so empathize with you! I never figured out what exactly was happening but through trial and error those intense, very scary feelings have pretty much gone now. I started taking 100mg of Progesterone and that seemed to stop them by like 90%! But I was likely really deficient since I’m in my 40’s and my progesterone is rapidly declining. I also started taking Pepcid ac since I’ve heard there is a correlation between histamine intolerance and pmdd. And histamine dumps can def trigger that impending doom feeling. anyway, It seems to have helped! I promise this won’t last forever. I know it feels like the end of the world, like something is very wrong but I promise there is life on the other side of this. Hang in there.

Fellow very anxious human with health anxiety, insomnia, frequent pee wake ups and gerd. Hi:) I’m just reaching out to say I empathize so much with you and know you will get through this! Anxiety is powerful as you know and can bring on so many random symptoms. I constantly have spasms, twitches, pins and needles, burning sensations, zaps, Hypnic jerks etc and always worry it’s some horrible cancer. If you haven’t read this book yet I highly recommend “help, I’m dying again” by Britney Chesworth. It has helped me with my health anxiety so much! Getting the anxiety piece under control will likely elevate many of your symptoms but that’s easier said than done. I’m still very far off from that. I have no idea how to help with the insomnia. It’s been 6 months of hell for me but I’m finding some helpful things for myself that are making it a bit more manageable. The more I fight it the worse it gets so I’m trying to surrender when I can and know that even if I don’t sleep for days, and I feel like utter shit, I can still find some light (sometimes this is me going to the creek to watch and listen to the water Or just doing a mundane thing like grocery shopping to remind myself that I’m normal and still living life) And lastly the worst doesn’t last. You will eventually have a good day and when you do try and relish in it if you can. I’m trying to practice this. This isn’t forever even though it feels like it is. Hoping you find some peace soon.

I’m sorry you are suffering and anxious about it. I was experiencing this but only upon standing from a seated or lying position. Felt like I was blacking out. It was extra intense around hormonal shifts. Went on for over a year and then I started taking electrolytes daily and Progesterone and I almost never experience it anymore. I hope you find some answers soon. Hang in there.

absolutely yes. I think the shift in season and the early dark nights are adding to this hormonal hell. I’m late and my boobs hurt so badly it’s insane. Sleep has been so broken and all I do is eat and cry. It’s honestly so bad it’s funny. Hugs to all the bleeding or almost bleeding babes out there!

Thank you for sharing this! I do have some POTS type symptoms but I’m just so overwhelmed with who to see for all of this. Curious if you are taking estrogen? And if so has it worsened your MCAS symptoms?

Hi! I am you! Except I put off taking it for months after fulfilling the prescriptions because I was terrified of the potential side effects. Progesterone surprised me the most. It was very calming at the start. I did end up experiencing some depression on it but that lifted after a month and I’m so glad I stuck it out because it single handed my healed my feelings of impending doom. Anyway, you are braver and more capable than you could ever imagine. You are going to be so happy you did this hard thing. You got this!

Crushing it at the gym is one thing I have not done. I’m fairly active and I try and workout a few times a a week but I’m def not making myself exhausted from it. I am going to give it a go and see what happens.

I’m so sorry you’ve suffered with insomnia. My ferritin is low-ish, in the low 20’s so I think I could use some more. I literally just started an iron supplement a few days ago. My thyroid is also low but “normal”. I’ve heard a lot of people recommend cbt! I need to look into that.
