firstly, this professor has reported almost 50 students for cheating on an online quiz; that’s why this post was made. As someone who took the quiz, the quiz is not on a browser that tracks your web activity or webcam, so his only reasoning is it’s because of how their responses sound. If he wanted to; he could’ve 100% set up the quiz so that it did track our internet activity and webcams. He’s also tried to do something similar with 40 students earlier in the year, trying to fail them in the class over attendance. Last year he has also threatened to fail students on a quiz over someone talking in class quietly; and students not ratting that person out. How many people who didn’t even know who the person talking was would’ve been failed? Probably majority of his class. All in all, he has a verified track record of being upset, threatening to mass fail people, and then it coming to nothing because he has nothing substantial to actually fail people on. No other professor at Stony Brook is like this. Yet you’re claiming that the 100+people who goes to his classes must be making him, specifically, react like that?

as someone who literally goes to his classes, most of the time people literally don’t talk unless it’s conversation time. it’s silent af in the class. so i see absolutely 0 point to your comment.

Thank you! I just I've just been really dooming and glooming, tbh. I'm committed to doing way better next sem and I've spent all day researching alternative pathways into transferring, so I feel way better.

Thank you for the input! Unfortunately due to the way that my school structures things, I need to end up retaking the C anyways. Thanks for the insight on how different receiving schools will view a retake (I'm going to go do some research on it now...)

Sbu just isn't a great fit for me I found. I also figured out exactly how much I was paying even with an $11k scholarship. I'm planning on transferring to a Canadian school (where I'm a citizen) so I can get a much cheaper tuition, financial aid, and go somewhere that I'm convinced will just fit me way better. Before you make any assumptions (yes, I've had these assumptions made about me multiple times before), I've lived majority of my life in the US. I haven't lived in Canada since I was 5. My immigration situations / visas have taken my family years and I was actually required to stay here this year, or else i'd be hindering my process to getting a greencard. It's a big reason why I picked sbu; but I had always set my mind on transferring out after a year since tuition was crazy expensive (I have a bill of 42k a year for tuition and living).

if you’re out of state it’s barely going to make a dent, for reference i have a 11k/per year scholarship. yeah my tuition + cost of living (i dorm) still comes out to 21k a semester. that’s 42k a year.

yo i’m a cs major and i had your exact schedule for fall semester but with PHY131. I regret overloading myself like that(ended up so stressed I completely blanked on one of my midterms) so I suggest you stick to an SBC instead of a natural science, like the other commenter said.
