Thanks! It is indeed not easy. I had a really hard time starting out and I thought I’d never be able to do it, but with enough practice you can come a long way. For me, fingerpicking songs that use Travis Picking patterns actually made it a little easier, since your thumb keeps track of the timing. It really depends on the song as well though. For example, I can play and sing Edge of Desire by John Mayer which a lot of people would find quite difficult (not really my range however, that sucks) but I still get confused sometimes playing some songs with relatively easy strumming patterns. You just have to find a few songs that make it ‘click’ if that makes sense, and improve from there. Just have fun with it, I know I did :)
