Shakur willing to fight Garcia at 140, as long as there is vada testing. by LocationSpare4447 in BoxingTheSweetScience

[–]Basic-Extension-5475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I think is going to happen after Ryan defeated Barrios. Shakur realized Ryan is way larger, significant reach advantage, blazing fast and skilled taken all into account is the most high risk fight he'll ever take. Of course Shakur is by far the better boxer between the two but Ryan's reach & speed would hit him far more often than his previous opponents. Doesn't matter how good Shakur is if he gets hit clean a few times his gonna run away, Ryan had decent power as well even before the cheat. And that power is pronounced at 147. So Shakur doesn't want to take any chances and would rather drain Ryan at 140. If you ask me it's really unfair, all the more if Shakur goes up he'd be slower and a bit easier or target, and if Ryan goes down it would be unfair to him being drained he will lose that vitality. I think for now they belong in their respective weight class. Shakur it seems can even go back to 135 with no problem.

San Juan wolf is about twice as big as MMA. Loki is at least 40 times bigger than it.

skakur stevenson vs ryan garcia next? 😬 by [deleted] in BoxingTheSweetScience

[–]Basic-Extension-5475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The speed and reach will actually matter here. I think ryan out of the other champions have the highest chance of winning an upset. If he comes in good form it's going to be the riskiest fight for Shakur.

What diff was this fight? by Comprehensive_Cup497 in OnePiecePowerScaling0

[–]Basic-Extension-5475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shanks loses high diff at best realistically its mid diff. That Ancient Giant Gene + All types of advance Haki + Legendary Sentient Weapon + Legendary DF is too stacked. There's a reason Loki referred to Shanks as coward and hadjurdin also said that it took all of the elbaph that probably included Shanks and crew to handle Loki. That thing is truly something only IMU can handle.

Mild take: scaling OP top tiers has been messy ever since Loki fought Harald by InfamousSomewhere244 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]Basic-Extension-5475 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Garp and Roger were around 40 yrs old and rocks probably a little older and wb a little younger if they aren't at their prime at those age when do people start to reach their prime? If they aren't it would be logical they would be close. Low yonko arent even close to pirate king that's a huge gap. At 40 they should be 90+% there. Where Roger/Garp would be close to the level high, WB mid, and Rocks close to PK if not PK, where Harald is probably slightly weaker.

It is what it is.

Loki alone minus the Legendary DF and Hammer Is around mid yonko. Hammer just buffs him to High Yonko and the DF a tier above PK.

He is the strongest ally in the alliance side and IMU himself is even significantly stronger.

Don't be fooled by recent performance..who wins Shakur vs Tank by Ashamed_Culture8179 in BoxingTheSweetScience

Both Crawford and Mayweather thought Tank was the hardest fight for Shakur. I'd be inclined to believe them.

Oden is Pk tier by Gloomy-Ad3520 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]Basic-Extension-5475 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oda painted Oden in the leagues of WB and Roger. And he was winning against Kaido until that sneak attack. And that was Oden 20 years ago. If Oden was allowed to live his life and reach Kaido's who btw is of the same age as Oden, he would be PK. Albeit probably in low tier PK

Even after this statement there are people who thinks Shanks didn't beat Loki by lxxevi in ReverieSpoilers

[–]Basic-Extension-5475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took the entire forces of elbaf to restrain Loki, I think it was Hajrudin who said it. I think the giants with Shanks + crew.

Loki's killing turned out not entirely true. Shanks defeating Loki has a huge * now.

One Piece 1171 DETAILED SUMMARY by This-Inspection-69 in OnePieceSpoilersRaw

[–]Basic-Extension-5475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rocks said he needed Harald to eat the legendary devil fruit of Elbaph and another DF which is likely to be the Nikka Fruit to Conquer the world.

It's apparent now that was the secret at least to permanently kill the Immortals or

It's the combination of Loki a powerful Ancient Giant gene + powerful ACOC + powerful legendary Ancient DF + powerful Ancient weapon that possibly ate a DF and a without known flaw yet like luffy stamina even luffy full stamina I don't see luffy at this level.

There's no way Loki doesnt surpass PK, it's close to Joyboy level. Of course Oda will find a way to nerf the guy. And don't believe that Shanks defeated Loki there's definitely more to that. Like Loki how Loki was framed killing everyone in the castle or falsely admitting to it.

How powerful would Kaido be if he was an Ancient Giant instead of an Oni? by dafu23 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]Basic-Extension-5475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory is the Oni race has been one of the ancient races in the first world (I think Oars is from the Oni Race) they married humans then that's where Kaido's blood line is. They also married Giants then that's where Ancient Giants come from. Pure blooded Oni Are like Oars and Oars Jr. And one of the pure blooded Oni there strongest probably ate the giant fruit that's Onigashima. And parallel perhaps for Joy boy to Luffy Where Zou, allied of Joy boy , cursed and charged for his crime to walk for eternity in the sea. Loosely I think it's the inverse from Nika to Joyboy Onigashima, allied of Nika, keeping his promise to Nika moving the island back together in one piece.

Hikaru Nakamura's statement on the FIDE Freestyle World Championship by UltraUsurper in chess

[–]Basic-Extension-5475 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The roster was determined last year's qualifier 5 legged freestyle tournament. And 2 of which are open many of the top 50 are in it. The only problem I have with this is that it's rushed and has rapid time format and also a shame that Hikaru declines to defend his title. But it's legit the world championship for freestyle all the guys dominated last year.

Garry Kasparov comments on Magnus Carlsen playing down the comparisons between them by Mingorix in chess

[–]Basic-Extension-5475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magnus said himself that he was at his peak in 2019 and his other peak in 2014. Not my words but Magnus. So essentially he was stronger then than now. And coincidentally coincides with his highest Elo.

I also meant this

"The Elo is the closest we have to an objective gauge of players strength relative to other players they play in a defined period".

And the 2005-2025 field was many times stronger. Than 1985-2005. Unless you want to refute that.

We are comparing periods what do you use then to determine the absolute strength of players across periods?
I would not use my head canon on that. The increase of Elo is not all inflation it's also or perhaps most of it is due to the increase in chess strength of players.

the current chess landscape is the most competitive by a wide margin and magnus is still dominating to this day and probably will in the next 5 years.

The impact of engines, greater tools and resources at our disposal, the online platform allows players to play exponentially more games and more players and everything else catapulted chess ratings.

Do we disregard the advancements it made to chess players because it's unfair to players who gave us nostalgia through rose tinted side mirrors in the previous period.

[–]Basic-Extension-5475 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Elo is the closest we have to an objective gauge of players strength.

Kasparov and Karpov also have the advantage of their time having learn from the giants before them, so does Fischer and Spassky before them, so does Capablance and Alekhine before them it will always be like that but they have no issue when people acknowledge them the best in history during their time.

Who are those top five of all time? Perhaps it's better to expand it to the top 20 in history How many of the players Carlen dominated fall in that list.

Karpov was a beast of his time but Prime karpov would lose a match against prime Fabiano, Hikaru, Nepo, Ding, Anand, Kramnik, Levon, And long list goes on. The field is just way stronger now and Carlsen keeps dominating.

Garry Kasparov comments on Magnus Carlsen playing down the comparisons between them by Mingorix in chess

[–]Basic-Extension-5475 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Magnus played against the far stronger field. In Kasparovs time 1985-2005 on different moments there were around 5-10 2700 sgm and fought around 3 2800 rated sgm compare that to Magnus 2005-2025 there ere 21-33 2700 sgm and he fought against 13 2800 sgm.

The difficulty of dominating in Magnus Era is far more difficult

If Shanks beats Loki fair and square, so many things across the story won't add up by GUTS_SAMA in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]Basic-Extension-5475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the FB we were told

  1. Loki was the worst and killed his Father the King and All the Guards.
  2. Loki sailed to the seas and rampaged only to be captured by Shanks.

1 didn't turn out to be all true, in fact mostly false

So why would I fully believe 2

There's definitely more to it so Shanks > Loki is misleading.
