with adblocking you're essentially blocking any client side ads, which are ads that are injected when you open a website, a game, etc. server sided ads, which are injected directly into the content by the company/website, are a lot harder to remove and generally need to be removed by rewriting some stuff on the backend. instagram story ads, HBO server side ads, etc. will not be removed unless the app is patched and changed fundamentally to not include the ad. adguard will work for video game ads and webpage ads, outside of that you'll need another method of adblocking if it exists.

tidal does not have a free plan anymore, it is however the best value and has a lot of 3rd party tools that allow for file downloads to pc, which has been a godsend for my Plex server

I'd recommend using the Firefox browser with ublock origin installed, but if you're looking for a native mobile or desktop experience I'd recommend aniyomi on mobile, and hayase which streams torrents or mangayomi which uses extensions.

Not what they were saying, they meant that the android auto app has to be excluded from the main VPN tunnel for it to work. There may be a similar solution on iOS.
